I’m new to leasing cars and it’s been a steep learning curve. I live in DC and visited a dealer in Bethesda, MD who offered the following terms on 2018 GLC (which I didn’t yet sign):
MSRP: $49,245
Negotiated Price: $43,670
MF: 0.0019
Residual: 57%
License/Registration Fee: $275
Acquisition Fee: $795
Doc Fee: $299
Term/Mileage: 36/10K
Down-payment/Incentives/Rebates = $0
With the $920 prepaid maintenance package (making the total negotiated price $44590), my monthly payment on the lease agreement is $641.47+tax = $707.22. The lease calculator gives a pre-tax monthly payment of $621. I can’t figure out the discrepancy here.
I would very much appreciate if someone can help me by addressing a few questions:
(1) If this a reasonable deal? If not, how do I go about getting something better?
(2) Why is the monthly payment different on the lease argeement and lease calculator?
(3) The dealer never mentioned MSDs (which I learned about afterwards). Should I bring this up with him? How should I do this and what should I be looking for?
(4) If anyone know about this, why is the DC tax on the monthly lease payment 10.25%. I can’t find any reference to this, and I had the impression it would be lower since DC tax is generally not that high.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
