So thinking of getting out of a 2020 highlander XLE Hybrid through US Bank. 23 months and 25k miles left. Been offered 42.8K from carmax and I can buy out the lease for 40K including tax and fees. Or is it better to do a lease transfer?Current lease is $408/ month plus tax ($444 with Pa tax). Never done a swap so unsure of pit falls and also unsure if I can charge a few thousand up front to the new lease holder. Appreciate the help.
Can you sell it to the dealer you leased it from? Or any dealer that uses us bank? You plan on leasing something else?
I’m ordering a 4xe and maybe a tesla. Autonation told me the dealer buyout was 47.5k.
I plan on buying out my lease from us bank once I get my second 4xe and the gc 4xe next year. I’ll prob make 1-2k after taxes but It’s much easier than turning it in to us bank and costing me more money.
Has anybody had any success charging a premium to swap out of a lease?
Is it transferable out of state? How much would you want up front?
Also AWD?
Yes it’s a common practice. Easier on SAL more difficult on the forum.
Yes, it’s all wheel drive. I spoke to swap a lease yesterday and they felt $3k was a reasonable ask. I didn’t ask about out of state.
What is the RV at the end of the lease?
I’m around 575/mo with msds on a 2021 Xle. So I would ask for 3k down on swapalease!
It’s not worth buying it out and selling bc you’ll owe taxes and it takes time to get title
Thanks for the info! My US BANK 40k buyout does include all the tax and fees but swapping seems the best bet.
My wife may be interested. Let me know if it’s transferable out of state
Jeep uses usbank for leasing also. So might be worth it to see if the 4xe and trade in credit makes sense for your new vehicle
Where are you located?
I am in Kentucky
I did. The deal was take over the lease plus pay me $2500. We split the BMWFS $500 fee. When new “owner” picked up the vehicle from me he gave me a check. Luckily this was someone I knew and trusted.
