HELP! Baby movers - Cadillac XT5 vs. Lexus RX 350 zero down 36/10 lease

@jimjay

I totally get it. It’s a very long, arduous process and can get annoying very quickly. But you came very close to your target, so you should be happy with that. Just make sure to bring your A+++ game in 36 months.

In the end, the hours I spent on the deal probably weren’t worth the money saved, but it was fun and it feels good to get what you want after 10 people tell you you’re crazy. hehe.

Those are some crazy fees you guys have to deal with! I guess Lexus tried to counterbalance them with higher rebates. Our doc fee here in CA is capped at $80, but we don’t get a $1,500 incentive.

On a side note, I really love the car but have some pretty major complaints, for those who are still considering buying one:

  • The brakes are terrible, especially considering I have an F-Sport version. The stopping distance is very long
  • The voice navigation is one of the worst I’ve ever used. It constantly adds an extra digit to the house number or gives me a completely different street name or city/state altogether
  • Trunk space is deceptively small due to the slope of the trunk door (which opens VERY slowly)
  • That “panoramic” roof that only opens 10". WTF.
  • The adaptive cruise control applies the brakes very abruptly, so it can’t be used in stop and go traffic without making you sick.

But the combination of drive, comfort, quietness, luxury, toys, etc. make up for all that in spades.
