Hacking a lease in the Midwest - low success rate?

OK, we’ll keep that in mind for next month when we re-open discussions.

Tips on finding a broker who works in the Midwest?

@Benedetto is the only one. He is the unicorn.

Not me, @Evgurl in Kansas needs an EV
.

Nah, fam. Midwest doesn’t do discounts. It’s the place, we know what we have until we need to get it off to rental car companies.

The only Midwest that really does play ball is Chicago and greater Chicago area - and maybe MI if you call it Midwest

Iowa, MN, and WI are SLIMMMMM with their discounts

Iowa has barely any dealers, it’s consolidated between Willis in DSM, Karl, Deery Bro and Granger who are the big players

Plus idk what mighty horse do MN dealer sit but they are the worst of them all - MN nice is the biggest bull crap

I live in Kansas City. We used to have an extremely competitive Toyota market, until Covid. The dealers have not been competitive since then, because all the inventory pre-sells. Honda has recently become more competitive locally, pricing within about $1k of the best deal you could find nationwide.

I recently leased a Pathfinder from a KC dealer at $440 per month, including sales tax, for 18 months. Nissan dealers in KC have been as competitive as the nationwide deals I see on this site.

All that said, if you want an EV, this is not the area to be shopping for one, as far as I can tell. There are no state incentives, so naturally the inventory goes to states where they give added state incentive money (like CO).

When I was younger, I went into Aristocrat MB to look at a C class. The sales guy told me they only sell Benz to people that can afford them, so I should leave.

I just had to look that dealership up. Wasn’t sure if you were joking about the name

There’s an Aristocrat VW too… People’s car and car for Kings.

Now I know MB cars are dirt cheap EV leases and aren’t worth more than whatever DJRabbi is paying.

There are 9 24 Ioniq 5s and 11 24 Ioniq 6s at one area dealership alone. Next month we’ll start sending out offers and see what happens. Demand for EVs is up around here, but there is still a fair amount of aged inventory.

And I work at Aristocrat, hmmmm

You learn the best way to tell all the cheapskates to pack their bags and shop Dodge?

Lawrence Kia also advertising 21k off on EV9s, not sure if it’s hackable

Did you approach management when you got there about having a presence on LH and potentially slinging a few leases and they were just like, “good one Derek”?

Thank you, trism, for your responses here. I learned a lot. Thank you, Evgurl, for asking this as I was wondering the same thing myself for Arkansas. So far dealers here have been a joke. Perhaps luckily I’m next to Texas so sounds like I might try informed offers there.

If anyone has a recommendation on a Texas area broker, I’d be interested.

Absolutely, they told me to “kick rocks.”
