Likely they will cover maybe a month or 2 max. From my experience and that was before covid. Had multiple bmws that got rear ended and eventually they cut off the rental cars.
With lack of parts now. Odds are you will be without this car for many months.

Yes. We had for two weeks 
We’ve now had a rental Q5 for as much time as we did the X3M.
We do have a lawyer so hoping things can get figured out but right now the bright side is that it appears we can get our rental covered for a looong time.
So at least we’re not without a car.
