Good lease deal? Mazda Cx-5

Review this again:

Dealer Discount: What discount did the dealer offer you? Said another way, the dealer reached into her pocket and gave you a discount. How much? MSRP - Dealer Discount = PRE-INCENTIVE Selling Price . Do NOT include any incentives from Mazda in this figure - just reflect how much the dealer is slashing her profit. You must determine how much the dealer is kicking into your deal. Every dealer can offer you the same incentives coming from Mazda, but the better deals come from dealers that will aggressively discount while writing financially sound deals. The single most important variable you will negotiate is your Dealer Discount %.

What is your PRE-INCENTIVE Selling Price?

Double check your $750, it varies by region and I have only seen $720 and $1,220. Are you sure you get $750?

You 1st month free is NOT part of your pre-incentive selling price. In the calculator you should treat it as a REDUCTION in DAS. See calculator instructions.

Got it. The lease cash is 720 will try to get the discount from dealer. Thanks

You have a selling price offer of $27,738.70 from the dealer. In the future, whenever you get a price from a dealer make sure you know if the dealer price is with or without the Mazda lease cash.

Let’s ASSUME the SP is BEFORE incentives. That means:

MSRP 29700
Pre-Incentive SP 27738.70
Pre-Incentive Discount 1961.30
Pre-Incentive Discount 6.6%

Plus you will get the Mazda lease cash
Plus Mazda will pay 1st month

So whether or not your lease cash is baked into your 27738.70 offer, your next step should be to negotiate a better dealer discount.

Check to see recent Mazda deals posted here. What pre-incentive discount did they negotiate. Here are a few to get you started.

Pre-Incentive Discount

CX-5 GT 10.9% rjoh1987

CX-5 Touring AWD (NJ) 8.4% jsingh5292

I hope you can get a good deal at your first dealer, but is always a good idea to shop multiple dealers to get the best deal available. Good luck.

Did you ever talk to @NurseAl about similar cars she has such as Tucson or Santa Fe?

Thanks, this is great start.

May be your are right, I can DM her to see if she has some good deal on Tucson or Santa Fe. Basically I don’t mind leasing SUV from Hyundai, Honda or Mazda as long as they fit my budget. Yes, if i would to be purchase, I would have more picky.

Thanks

Hi @824 this is what I got so far from the dealer

The MSRP 27,690- 25,122.30 =2,567.70 discount $720 is lease cash =1,847.70 - 359 first payment =1,488.70 dealer discount.

Sorry the above email is from other dealer which gave me this detail:

Msrp - 27690
Selling Price -25,842.30
12 yr 36k miles $359
Res - 15,279.50 = 55%
Mf - .00001
Nj tax
NJ mv
$0 Down.

The MSRP 27,690- 25,122.30 =2,567.70 discount $720 is lease cash =1,847.70 - 359 first payment = 1,488.70 dealer discount.

I suggest you ignore the FREE month when you evaluate selling price. You are getting a free payment. Most likely the incentive will reduce your DAS, NOT selling price.

It looks like you verified this Dealer is quoting you selling prices after your $720 Mazda incentives. Based on your info is this what you are telling us? Please confirm.

MSRP 27,690
Pre-Incentive SP 25,842.30 (25122.30+720)
Pre-Incentive Discount 1,847.70
Pre-Incentive Discount 6.7%

Plus you will get the $720 Mazda lease cash
Plus Mazda will pay 1st month up to $500

@KKars Also, this look like a different car/dealer. Please confirm? Earlier MSRP was $29,700. It is helpful if you clearly label deals so we don’t get things mixed up.

If this is the same dealer, it looks like he keeps offering you a 6.7% pre-incentive discount.

Here is the calculator, please advice.

The numbers are bit off. The drive-off I received is $2000 and monthly is $269.

Thank you.

so my deal was pretty much the same as yours; except i did 0 DAS. but got the packages for interior and wheels, + gap: so effective payment roughly 350; car is not for me or i would of avoided the gap and protection packages.
