GM recalling Bolts for potential battery issue

Not sure what You want to do now.
If You are buying out Bolt know and want to get another potential great lease in 2 years You will lose tons of money IMO.
Ioniqs in Your area are for around $350/m effective
Good luck.

Explain this to me please. I have a 2023 EUV premier redline. The buyout is in April for approximately $20,000 and at that time the vehicle will have 15,000 miles. Leather, sunroof, redline package fully upgraded. How will that vehicle depreciate in two years. I don’t think I could replace that vehicle for that price. I started with an $8000 one time payment lease and even received an after purchase rebate in California. I think it’s like the gift that keeps on giving

Have You seen those used Bolt prices?

Thank you for posting these dealer inventories. That said, I think it supports my claim that a 2023 with 15,000 miles with two years of warranty bumper-to-bumper and six more years on the battery (Thereabouts) fully loaded with no issues that I know of and works flawlessly is totally worth $20,000 on the buyout of my current lease. These are high mileage vehicles around 50,000 or higher… specific issues with batteries. And if you don’t qualify for the tax break around $15,000. Go figure! I think you’ve made your point, and I think I made mine as well

PS if you read my post above where I questioned… it would be nice to have a reply

Yeah, it’s not a good comparison.

He’s saying that you can get a used MY17-20 Bolt EV LT with 60k miles for $13k (or as little as $9k if you qualify for the credit, which many will not) instead of paying $23k for your MY23 Bolt EUV Premier Redline.

For starters you can price out what Carvana and Carmax would pay for a 2021 today

Are there any even remotely good leases out there right now in CA (no rebates)?

It depends what ā€œgoodā€ is to you. I’m a picky hacker (bordering unreasonable) so I personally haven’t seen a single lease deal that has interested me in the last ~3 years while we’ve been navigating this supply chain constrained + high cost to borrow + inflationary environment.

I like the historical Bolt / Volt Premier one pays for under $7K.

There are the used 2020 Premier Bolts going for $16K vs the 2023 decked out one I have for $23K - will just need to make a call soon!

Yeah the low mileage MY23 EUV Premiers in SoCal are all priced around $27-28k but none are fully equipped. It makes it a pretty easy decision with a $23.5k residual.

In the same boat. MSRP swapped into a 23 EUV fully loaded besides super cruise. Residual is 23.5k, would make my payment if I bought it around $425 a month. I’m nervous I could still go upside down in it, but don’t imagine much. I think they will be worth around 15k in two years, almost like the old bolts. I have looked around for another EV lease, but no one is bitting in WA state, so far the best I got is $499 on Id.4 36k/36M. Lease ends in April so have some time, but really not sure which direction to go. This car is my commuter for my wife and I, as we try to keep miles off my Tacoma and her Rav4 for now since we are looking at upgrading those cars as well with a growing family.

One way to think of it… if it will be worth $15k in two years then it’s effectively $354 per month for the two years you keep the 2023 Bolt, plus whatever taxes you pay on $23.5k buyout. That assumes you sell it for $15k in 2 years

@dukez - anything great out there right now in N CA? I saw the Blazer EV deals in S Cal from July which looked really good.

Hoping there is a great deal out there right now, would like to trade in my 2023 Bolt Redline for something bigger like the Blazer EV if at all possible. I don’t study the market often, any insight would be super helpful. Thanks

Unsure about NorCal. But for SoCal we’ve got two HoF Chevy dealers on the forum. I’d check in with Randy @RPChevyDealer or Trish @chevysalesgirl

Hey there, sir this is Randy Pittner from Simpson Chevy Irvine

I’d be more than happy to help you. I’ve been doing a lot of deals with northern Cali.

If it makes sense, great if it doesn’t, I understand, but at least I’ll get some good information

And if it works out, we would ask that we get everything ready for you and shoot down on a quick flight and pick it up in person
