Getting out of lease early with Carvana, etc

Just get a rid of it, tires plus deposition would be more than $570, plus if you turn it in you’ll have worry about wear and tear. Send it to carvana!(or whoever is highest) I’m not sure why you’re even asking the question, car should be gone already

So it sounds like I should definitely be looking at getting rid of it now. And forgive me for sounding ignorant, but Hyundai can/will charge me for tires being worn?

Also, now I am met with a whole new issue. If I need to get rid of this soon, I’ve been researching and lease deals seem to be pretty poor at the moment. Especially for what I am looking at. I guess I could keep waiting and see if they improve, but that’s a crap shoot I understand. And then my offer may plummet and then I’m in another problem. Ugh…I feel a bit conflicted at the moment. Any good advice? Haha

How many miles do you foresee yourself going over? Are you considering leasing another Hyundai? I know that they currently are waiving disposition fees up to $400 and wear and tear up to $500 if you lease another Hyundai. That may absorb your overages/tires. Just some food for thought.

That’s part of the issue…I am NOT considering another Hyundai. While I have enjoyed this car, my wife and I are in agreement that we have been less than pleased with the quality and the way it has aged. I’ve had seat covers replaced now twice under warranty because they wear extremely quickly, and my experience with the local Hyundai dealer’s service department has been pretty pitiful. Personal I’d rather not deal with them anymore…

Fair enough. Did you get a quote from Vroom yet? I have been monitoring both Carvana and Vroom and Vroom has been consistently more (it actually increased by $500 last month!)

Vroom was $13,200. Even less.

Among those I’d start with the tlx

That was my thinking too. Just sat in one at the auto show here and I really liked it. Downside there is there is only one Acura dealer in my whole area, and its not close…so that makes for a potential service headache. And possibly issues with negotiating.

Agreed - that will make it tougher to get a great price.

Are there any good midsize sedan options for leasing right now?

Take the offer immediately. 500 or so out of pocket is cheaper than dispo fee and tires (yes they will charge you if they are that worn)

Isn’t OP still on hook for the 8 remaining payments or do these buy-out figures from Hyundai FS include the remaining payments?

If his payoff is correct, there would be no additional payments for the lease once purchased at payoff.

This is what I was also wondering… but yes, that $14,170 amount is my “dealer payoff”, so thankfully then that means I would not be responsible for the remaining payments if it were done that way…correct?

And also, may be a very stupid question, but is it possible that an actual dealership would do it this way too? Or just mainly places like Carvana, CarMax, etc…

You can certainly try, but I’d be willing to bet Carvana or Vroom will have the better offer. You also need to hurry as the offer is only good for a certain number of days. It’s entirely possible your next offer could be way less than your current.

Just to add to this, your offer might be less or more than what was offered last time, atleast for Carvana.

You’re correct. That said, I wouldn’t roll the dice on a Hyundai either.

I know this is a beaten-to-death topic, and its always so hard to say, but is this just a lousy time of year to try to lease? I just keep finding that many models just aren’t leasing well right now. Lousy RV’s and MF’s. Am I wrong?

You can actually take advantage of that slow and get bigger discount. This is just my personal opinion and experience.

Pay the $570 so that we can all get on with our lives.
