Getting No Response From Dealers - Is My Offer Too Aggressive?

,

It looks like it reverts back to 24 month and 3500 down… so go into edit (next to contact dealer), remove the 3500 down, then select one-pay. You may have to remove the $3k conquest too to revert the numbers…. contact the dealer usually is a flag in the system that it’s very low payment.

Thank you for the feedback! That totally makes sense. Will definitely adjust my tone to be more aggressive. Yeah it makes sense how if I try to be too nice, it seems like I would be someone easy to take advantage of. I do have a problem with that when I am writing most of the time haha

Yeah I’ve been looking at that exact same model from Stephen Wade also, was planning to contact them today to see if they are willing to do an out-of-state lease deal. That one has been sitting there for at least a week though and I feel like it’s always the top result on the Cadillac website. The deal is so good but with no takers, I feel like there must be some issue (dealer not honoring the website price maybe?).

Don’t see a problem with being nice but you want to get to the point. My guess is they saw your email and immediately thought TL;DR.

Just say hey I am ready to sign for stock number whatever for one pay $x and year/term. Can take delivery today.

Don’t list all the incentives etc they will make the numbers work if they want to move that car.

Good luck!

I’ll disagree in this particular case where a number of conditional incentives exist and materially impact the deal. I personally would go with an itemized offer so they have an idea how you got to your number. To each their own!

Fyi for anyone looking, the Stephen Wade Lyriq is not available for a lease deal because it already had the lease tax credits taken via a prior deal that fell through

I’m not an expert at leasing by any means, but that doesn’t make sense. If it fell through then no credits were applied. And even then, GM doesn’t pass through the tax rebate as a credit or incentive, they adjust the residual. I think they just don’t want to lease it and lied to you.

Yes true if you qualify for a certain rebate that not everybody does, that would be important to mention but I don’t think a blow by blow account is needed for incentives everybody qualifies for.

Agree everybody is different :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I can add my 2 cents.

  1. The dealers in NorCal are terrible at replying to emails.

  2. I tried to replicate this 4k lyriq deal in the bay and spoke to all dealers, the lowest they were going was $11K for a one pay at which point I laughed and told them I pass. I didn’t feel any urgency or interest from them to play ball or negotiate, they simply don’t care and claim that whatever 4k happened in other states is irrelevant and they won’t match it.

Hope it helps, good luck though, maybe you’ll be able to do better

So I received a response on Luxury 2 (New, not an ex-loaner) today. Quoted 12699 for 2 year / 10k mi lease.

Ran the numbers on RateFindr. Looks like they are using the Lease Rate X0D option (72% RV).

If I plug in the X0E Option (76% RV) and add in the $2k dealer cash, then the numbers start getting closer to about $8.5k for a one pay.

When negotiating, does it come up as a red flag to dealer that I ask why dealer cash wasn’t used and why they are using the lower RV?

X0D is RWD & X0E is AWD and they have different RV’s. Does that tie into whichever model you are looking at?

Yup that’s the difference. Thanks for that catch.

Got a couple fires burning, but nothing at the “hack” level yet. One Lux2 and One Sport 2 offered for 12.6k. One local dealer said that they’re 0 profit price on a Sport 3 was $21k

One vehicle I inquired about has Hail damage. Waiting to see if they’ll agree to lease it before 9/30 and then get the repairs done. Hopefully that hassle leads to a solid deal.
