I’ve returned my GV60 on July and was considering to get a new Hyundai or Genesis and have the turn in fee waived.
On several calls with Genesis Finance they confirmed that I’d have 90 days to get in to a new car, but since I couldn’t secure a deal I’ve paid the turn in fee.
To my surprise, today my account was reported as delinquent to the credit bureaus, even though it has been paid off.
I already called Genesis and they said that I had only 60 days to pay instead of 90 and that I need to send a a letter to dispute the report. I’ve paid off my turn in fee at 70 days.
Anyone has gone through a similar situation and can help me out?
I kind of went through this with MBFS but they told me 60 days but it was really 30 days. I did get “collection” calls so I just went ahead and paid it. I am surprised you didn’t get collection calls to be honest.
You might have to swallow this negative impact sadly.
Well… after a couple calls with Genesis Finance I was told to file a dispute with the Credit Bureaus and after that send a letter to GF disputing the same.
What sucks is that I don’t have any ‘supporting docs’ since all the info was provided verbally on calls, so unless they are willing to review these recordings I don’t have any material evidence to work in my favor.
I’ve created a dispute with all credit agencies and got an update last week that my account has been reverted to ‘closed and always on time’ (or something within those lines).
Even when GF reported the delinquency they still reported as all payments being made on time so I think it played out in my favor.
