I have a Ford lease that is ending soon.
There is a clear $395 disposition fee.
I was going to buy it, but the dealer is taking on a $500 buyout fee (not in lease agreement) and another arbitrary $260 dealer fee.
Does Ford actually allow this? Any way around this?
Call another Ford dealer and see what they offer?
And yes, apparently Ford buyouts need to go through a dealer and IIRC it cannot be within 90 days of the lease maturing

I thought that was just for 3rd party buyouts?
Search around… there’s been a few threads on this topic. Here’s one…
New to this forum and looking to learn a lot. I initially have this question.
My lease end date on an F150 is August 15th. I just made my last lease payment and my intent all along has been to purchase the truck. I’ll be on vacation when my lease ends so decided to do the deal now. Did the deal Frid…

The quoted thread doesn’t even relate to this topic…
I did search before posting, I’m not a n00b bro
Sure, will let others opine then. GLWT
Edit: forgot to add that the thread above was noted for this point - “This was leased through FMC and FMC says to work with the dealer if you intend to purchase”

The other answer is, don’t fall for this racket.
Aside from Florida and a couple other states that are not California, no one has a state law dictating that you have to go through a dealer to buy out your lease.
Which means it’s ford’s policy. Don’t reward a company for its shifty policies
