For better comparison, can LeaseHackr ask brokers to post effective monthly cost when they advertise?

As consumers, we need to do our due diligence. As mentioned in a previous post, brokers and dealers that advertise on this site have to follow certain marketplace guidelines.

As a trusted hacker (TH), whenever I come across a broker’s post that omits pertinent information such as not listing the amount due at signing (although it is clearly outlined in their main post), I politely point it out to them. I hope folks understand that some of us have a day job and other obligations (family, kids, personal activities, school, etc) outside of this site. We cannot monitor every broker listing to ensure they adhere to the laid out guidelines.

Nearly every broker listing I have come across includes money due at signing. I can understand your frustration, but I am sure you understand that registration, licence fees, and tax rate vary by location. For example, here in MA my tax rate is 6.25%. We have low registration fees and our dealer fees are reasonable (about $500). Some states tax rebates, while a few (like MA) don’t. We also have yearly excise tax, but that’s normally not collected by the dealer.

@michael and @littleviolette have the authority to ensure that those advertising on this site follow the proper guidelines. I would love to hear their perceptive on this topic.

EDIT: I am not a big fan of some broker listings that advertise a low monthly payment but it requires MSDs, or an additional incentive that not everyone qualifies for. Although, all the information is usually laid out in their post, we (as consumers) need to read all the details when looking at a deal.

You should be the one to talk of shadiness. You and the other shady ones in here (not all) are the reason of what this website has turned into. No dealer ever held a deposit within 2 hours when information was provided to be different after making payment. Scam artist

Friendly reminder to keep this thread civil and avoid any name calling. Thank you.

And very true that taxes change etc. However, why brokers push 7.5k miles payments when really most will need 10k. This website was created to be helpful and i am glad it has provided many leads for brokers but i am sure we can stick to at least 10k leases for most vehicles. @stellarauto was looking at his ad and felt they are very good in terms of detailing pmt for various mileage needs. @AutoCompanion and @AutoNinjas other brokers family has dealt with and been great and transparent. Overall most brokers do right in term of advertising and dealing with people but does not mean there would be no need for fine tuning.

That happens right now too. People complain payments go up $50/mo because they increased mileage or didn’t qualify for MSDs. Plus Most brokers don’t include taxes, so already few thousand goes up at signing.

Can’t fix stupid but sure can limit click bait tactics. $2000 broker fee and $5000 Down on a 12month lease adds more than $580/mo!

I don’t mind 7.5k mi being advertised, because it varies from person to person, but should be consistent. One broker advertises 5k mi, another does 10k

Fair point but seems like a those dealer ads honestly. Now brokers here most are fair and wont say well 50 more a month if you want 10k or say pay by miles etc. But 10k is more standard in my opinion.

.

Funny you’re the only one that ever gave me a bad review. So seems you were the problem. Not to mention my refund policy is clearly written

Maybe next time don’t middle man deals for fickle family members and you’ll be ok.

And what has this website turned into? A great example of the free market at work? A great resource for price discovery? No one is forced to use brokers and we provide attainable deals for people free of charge.

Again with words against family. Better check yourself. Next time do not lie that i can return my lease at the dealer and there would be no need for a bad review. And point is simple, within 2 hours you were told that I was not ok with it since dealer refused lease return. Never heard of a dealer to pull something like that. Either way i found funny you talking of shadiness. No other broker here has had reviews of keeping someone’s deposit from what i remember.

I personally click on brokers calc and click zero drive offs and i could instantly see my effective monthly
I think leasehackr should be used after a basic understanding of how a lease is structured
Maybe tome for an entrance exam!

It’s odd that brokers have to put a refund policy in their thread since it never happens right?

And brokers do not lie or act shady just those other porsche brokers act shady and not you? You are honest and straight forward.

Either way back to the topic.

I think it is clear that we need a “Sisters and Friends” thread on LHer.
