Did he get his check yet ???
God willing soon.
Check is in the mail and I’m very satisfied. I’ll be bearing a new post with the whole experience once check has cleared. I can confirm that, at least in my case, insurance paid off Porsche and gave me the overages directly.
What were the total economics here:
How long did you have the car and with the check you receive, how much did it work out to a month?
Got my check. Want to crest a separate post. Anybody have a recommendation on which section I should post it in?
It would likely get merged back into this one, just keep it here so folks can see the full story.
Final Update: ACV was 118+lease tax+around 2k I had paid for new tires. Total was about 126k. Payoff was about 79k. Seems my insurance company didn’t take pre-incentive discounts or rebates into account.
They only used two comps. Insurance paid Porsche directly to pay off the lease and sent me the overages. I thought they would be sending Porsche the whole payment and then Porsche would cut me a check but I was wrong. The at fault party also covered my Rivian rental and I’m hopefully going to be getting another 10k for LOU but I’ll find out exactly how much later this week. It was a crazy five months and I’ll miss the Taycan but am ecstatic with the outcome so far. Still in disbelief the battery faults weren’t found during the initial scan but that’s not my problem anymore.
Did you get roughly $47k? I’m not reading that right?
Yes shockingly.
Go one pay an Aston or something, that’s amazing! I’m about to take my Taycan slowly through the local high schools around 3pm everyday.
Remember I am about 25k into it but still.
That’s $22k give or take. Free 24 month lease upcoming for you.
I already leased an i7. Got a great deal on it and am very happy. Compared to the Taycan it’s built like a vault. Taycan had so many creeks and rattles. Shameful for a car at that price point but boy was it a pleasure to drive and look at.
I had a lot of complaints on my 24, but not so much on my 25.
I honestly wish I would’ve gone 36 months, no chance I’ll be able to match this in 17 months (19 months with the extension I’ll def take).
I definitely think I benefited from current market conditions but my car was basically brand new at the time of the accident.
Love a good ending… Congrats!
Thank you. Appreciate it.
Congrats!! I know it’s been a journey and glad it turned out in your favor.
Yeah. Pretty insane. Insurance has ended up paying out more than 200k when you include rental and Loss of Use. Lots of people getting greased. ![]()
Idk if I should congratulate u for having this accident lol. How did this affect your premium?
