Maybe they would sell THREE of those if only they still came with the $7500 TC⌠Sure looks like the sales guy and the GSM got a head start on the all-you-can-eat steak diet lol!
@LAK1ngs WSJ just contacted us for copyright infringement. I am afraid that I would have to take your post down. ![]()
Oops, sorry, didnât mean to get anyone in trouble! Do as you need to. Apologies!
I wonder what you received in your inbox that morning when a $599 monthly, $599 DAS G580 dropped.
Itâs crazy that US just chose to give up on EV and let China dominate them instead. Southeast asia was japanâs car market, yet, wuling & Byd are eating their market now.
But did the US, or EVs in general, to be fair, ever had a chance in those markets?
Being originally from Brazil, I have a hard time seeing a BRL120k+ car becoming mainstream in a country with close to 0 charging infrastructure. The few regions with enough buying power are mostly metropolitan areas with people that live in apartments and canât even install L2 chargers.
Same reason they havenât taken off in most of LATAM. Many homes arenât set up for more than 50A service which leaves charging to communal sources mainly.
Ok the time has come. Lease ends Jan 31 and HMF called me with lease end options.
36k to buy out my ioniq5. Yikes.
Extend 6 months at the existing 249/mo rate. Seems appealing at this point but not sure market will be better in July vs end of year deals in Dec/Jan.
Return disposition fee of $400.
Not sure what EV to target. This 2nd car drives like 7k miles per yr so just need a good cheap reliable driver. EVs are fun and maintenance free though.
Take the 6mo extension, anything now is almost $300+ when you include the DAS-roughly $3K, and broker fees
You renew up to 6 months with 1 month at a time, so you donât have to commit to the 6 months⌠If you still need a car, just keep renewing it until you find a new deal.
Mine goes back in March, and if I can extend it I will.
Give me more time to decide what I want to do next. Car decisions are an excruciating, long and winding road with lots of U turns for me. Plus, Feb / Mar is going to be crazy busy with work and life, so a 6 month buffer would be tremendous.
extend it. should be a no-brainer. i purposely took a 36 month rs etron, and iâll probably extend it some more at lease end. hopefully, by 2027 manufacturers will have realized the mistake that govt policy has helped them make and turn the spigot back on. unfortunately, however, the chinese will have surpassed everyone else in terms of EV tech by so much that our pickings are going to be slim here.
Thanks, that is the plan. Unfortunately for you that means a delay in me being a return customer, but Iâll be back.
My EV6 matures in May. It was an insane one pay at the time but I am tempted to trade it in early to lease another EV6 or EV9 to make sure I get the Colorado EV rebate of $3,850 although itâs difficult to let the one pay go. Any insight from the group regarding where the market will be in May?

Try to get a EV6 recently in Colorado too. The deal is horrible. Especially after get spoiled by the 75%RV from Rubicon X deal.
I have seen some Ioniq 6 deals in Colorado that nearly match my $186 per month lease (0 down, including tax). I donât know exactly how they are doing it. I think they are just out of pocket rebates or something and on to of that Colorado state rebates are still around>
This car will be worth less than half of its stated MSRP in less than 2 years. I will be keeping my eye on the near new EV market before the lease is up.
I think my favorite part of this whole EV saga is that theyâre the only cars that are following a normal depreciation curve and all the other gas cars are not. It just goes to show you where the market places value.
