Expiration of EV Credit Superthread

I hope someone can hack a Range Rover P550e with the EV $7,500. There has to be one dealer that wants to avoid bag-holding these into the post-$7,500 world.

Although with bullcrap like this… the P550e is going to join the G580 in the lot-anchor-corner.

Do I smell an extension of the EV credit?

It seems low percentage, but with Lexus and other brands doing strange pauses and Tesla stock moving the way it has been, I’m watching.

Probably by the manufacturers through increased incentives, highly doubtful govt extends it.

I was talking to one salesperson, and he (and his dealership) was very sure something would be done to extend the EV credit because, as he said, it would all come crumbling down.

So I guess they (dealerships) are playing poker to try to call the administration’s bluff. But I don’t think the administration is even aware of this game with them

The way the Ohio Senator was speaking on the Car Dealership Guy podcast, there will be no extension. This administration is doing everything possible to move away from anything that isn’t a fossil fuel.

I’m under the same impression that there is a “cancel” process on all “green” EV, including wind farms.

And it’s not to turn this political, but practical - if there is no extension, I really want to hear from those at the dealership what the plan is. Especially on 2024 EVs that are still “brand new”

This was in a bill passed through the house and senate. The chances of the EV credit being extended are roughly 0%.

I didn’t even know they made these. I might’ve taken a run at one of them. What’s the best we’ve seen them go for?

Nobody is trying… since JLR has a reputation here of not being hackable, so people here may not even try.

I know it won’t stay, but I could see a pity “year end” extension to allow dealers more time to sort things out.

Bad news for cheap ToyotaRu EV leases before the tax credit expires: stop-sale

The car sales Gods continue to curse the Solterra specifically, from wobbly-wheels at birth to this.

Can you imagine what Cronos or Zeus would have done if any of their half-human kids came home with that much plastic cladding? :high_voltage:

There are so many Demo’s and non Demos around me I would think gonna have to start doing something. Can’t see them sitting on that many 70-100k EV trucks come October.

My local Nor Cal dealer has a “steal” of a deal on a 2025 g580 - $1800 a month , 0 DAS for a 48M/7.5k lease.

I hope to see better deals in the next two weeks.

Aquaman wouldn’t hold his breath waiting on that one.
