Capital gains tax for car I leased, then financed and sold?

I have a lot of positive equity in my Volvo lease, however Volvo just stopped allowing the sale of a leased car to a third party. I intend to finance the car so I can turn around and sell it. My question is, would I have to pay capital gains tax on the profit I make from selling it, even though I made additional payments towards the vehicle during my lease?

With the crazy used car market a lot of us have been offloading their leases to likes of Carvanas, Carmax, Vrooms of the world and making handsome profit in the profit. Question I have is that will this profit need to be reported as Capital gain or any type of income during tax season. I would be asking this to CPA come tax season but wanted to check with fellow hackers too.
