I don’t see how the TCO savings justify skipping a brand new EV here. Especially when there are good deals in the Marketplace
Matte black doesn’t help…
The cybertruck has to be the longest running practical joke. I still refuse to believe they’re actually serious.
Anyone else, for sure. But you know he only smoke the good stuff

iX stranded me today on the way to work. Drove about 30 minutes no problem, then gave me a drivetrain error. Went into standby mode at a red light and could be turned on but decided that it didn’t want to shift out of park.
Put on hazards, called 911 and a police officer showed up quickly to park behind me. BMW Roadside phone number on the app is disconnected (LOL) but I used the SOS button to arrange tow which took forever on the phone.
After about 30 minutes of toying with my emotions, the iX decided it would shift into drive so I limped to work and updated BMW with location. Tow arrived about 90 minutes after initial call.
Dealer said when the car got there, the dash was clear without any error messages, but they were able to download data. There was a ton of error messages from a part that acts like the ECU. Their working theory was that the car detected the battery was too hot and sent error messages shutting things down, and after it was sitting and cooled the car worked again. Corporate will be involved due to the number of error messages, and they may want the battery pulled which would lengthen the time to fix.
I was able to get an iX loaner that’s spec’d really well (castanea interior, premium package, driving assistance, luxury package) but no Bowers. Dealer said they got a bolus of 25 iX’s recently and put 9 into the loaner fleet.
My car is a lease from July with 2600 miles and only charged at home. NC Lemon Law says 20 business days out of commission and I can get a replacement or a refund. Will see what happens.

so in this thread we are allowed to make fun of this thing? Because in the dedicated CT thread anything negative is immediately scrubbed by @z0lt3c
Is it just me, or does efficiency mode kill the ac/ventilated seats?
I get offramped plenty but I don’t think anyone is arguing that the Tesla truck is a nice design…I’m sure it has some cool quirks and features but it just looks horrible imo. Just bc it’s an ev I’m not sure why they have to make them all look like they’re from demolition man or some other dystopian futuristic movie. Theres a reason that most pickups look basically the same, they’re functional. Large cabins and beds that fit construction materials or whatever else one needs to haul, what a truck is intended for. Rivian nailed it not sure why Tesla thinks people want something different.

I don’t have ventilated seats. I keep the AC set on 70 and haven’t noticed anything but comfort no matter which drive setting is selected.
Isn’t it just 3/Y inside and a whole lotta stupid on the outside? I don’t see what it brings to the table at all except an ability to readily identify people on the street that will die for a chance to argue to death about how awesome Tesla is.
Back in the hot summer, I drove from Detroit to Toledo on efficiency, and it was not pleasant.
If I only drive 30 miles a day wouldn’t BUYING an used EV be a good idea? Why do so many people recommend buying gas due to uncertainties in the future regarding depreciation and battery technology? Who cares about all that if you are buying used and don’t do long road trips.
There are no Tesla’s in that queue
You’re right I thought there were a couple in the line but def not. Still couldn’t fathom dropping 80k or so to sit like that. Lots of Benz in the line
Yup it’s utterly mad
If you can’t charge them at home/ work I just don’t see the point at this stage, somewhere like that anyway…
This is what we need really!
I don’t see this working in the US. You mean you are going to take my battery and give me someone else’s? I’ve seen people argue over propane tanks being “too scratched up” in home depot, you are proposing exchanging the most expensive part of the vehicle.
Yeah I made the mistake of taking a shot at using an EA charger with the free offer from BMW. Wasted so much time and then it was so slow. If I had to rely exclusively on EA for BEV charging, I’d find a snowy offramp (and I live in CA where there aren’t many snowy offramps).
I didn’t even bother activating the free charging on this Mercedes.
