First of all, awesome site. The information is great and the calculator is very handy.
Loved the post about the Prius, and you hinted more to come. Maybe you can give us a little teasers on what you have planned?
Where can you find the residuals and money factors for different manufacturers? You mentioned this number is released monthly to the dealers, is there anyway we can aggregate that data on a monthly basis?
Finally, it would be nice to get some historical data on promotions that manufactures ran throughout the year and see if there is any patterns on what month, or time of month is the best time to get a lease?
Keep up the good work!
Hey @flyindarkness,
Thanks for checking Leasehackr out! Hope you find it helpful.
For the teaser, the best hint I can give you is to look at the popular cars that have recently been renewed. Check our LA Auto Show coverage for example. That said, some lame ducks lease better than others. We cover only those that we think provide the best value for money. Follow our site on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to keep yourself posted on the deals!
As for our data collection methodology, we crawl the internet to glean information from manufacturer websites, car enthusiast forums, and dealer ads, among many sources. We also receive data from tipsters—i.e., consumers who recently leased a car and shared their deal. We compare data among multiple sources to ensure accuracy. You can learn more about how Leasehackr works here.
Thanks for the suggestion on reviewing historical data. We will definitely explore that! However, unlike flight ticket prices which based heavily on school schedules, the auto market is much more reliant on the market trend. For example, if Toyota lacks behind in sales in a particular segment against its competitors in a reporting period, you can expect some sweet deals for those cars. Staying on top of the market trend is what Leasehackr is best at so that we can find the best deals for you.
ahhhh. okay.
Looking forward to future posts, I’m going to see if I can do some calculations and see what I can come up with.
That is definitely a great leasing deal. Almost sounds like detective work with all the bonuses.
