End of year fire sale predictions

Thoughts on MFRs trying to clear EV and PHEV inventory by EOY in anticipation for losing the $7500 tax credit when Trump comes in?

EV deals will be DOA if the $7500 is gone.

This @ 100%. We passed even at the $350-380/m payment because we just donā€™t need something nearly that big inside and out, both XC90s didnā€™t ride so well, colors and options were wrong and on and on.

ā€œRightā€ payment for the wrong ride makes no sense. If you need it and like it - go get it!

Iā€™ve been thinking about this too much. Isnā€™t it just as likely people panic buy EVs over the next 6 weeks because they think the rebate will disappear and manufacturers rebates/dealer discounts decrease in response. The rebate is canceled next year and manufacturers support dealer/discounts step up to keep prices level?

I thought the same thing, but Iā€™d wager manufacturers want to move this metal more than customers want to buy EVs.

Everyone I know thatā€™s currently in an EV did it due to the incentives rather than the desire. With the $7,500 disappearing I believe manufacturers will need to incentivize their fleets more and possibly throttle back on production to avoid a glut, if not already (another thought).

Donā€™t know meā€¦ on my 2nd EV since 2021 and loving it.

Evidently not

In for the deal, never moving back to ICE nowā€¦

Much better driving and most importantly freedom from ever having to go to a gas station again is a beautiful thing

Careful what you say. Im a fan of EV but not every EV owner has solar, in other words if theres a blackout, you gonna be in for a long wait at the public charging. 1 of many reasons why i keep 1 ICE car in the driveway

ironically enough, if thereā€™s a severe power outage, your ICE car isnā€™t getting very far, either, since gas station pumps require power to actually work, and very few, if any, gas stations have backup generators. hurricane sandy proved this.

That is very true, sandy was a wake up call for everyone. After that happen everyone started investing into off grid energy to avoid it. (Who ever can afford it)

Seems like thereā€™s some equity in these XC90 deals :upside_down_face::upside_down_face::upside_down_face:

I got offered $63K on a plus buy out is 54K-55K

New 4xe flips?

I thought you got Ultra? You canā€™t flip Volvo anyway without paying tax.

Montana registration?

Nope lol
But if he does, then yep, I guess.

Sometimes itā€™s nice driving a car you spent time negotiating for, for more than a week.

i know its a long shot, how about trading in a 1 month old 2025 plus for an ultra, without getting into the negative equity (54000 payoff) situation. please advise.

You need to ask Volvo dealers if they even want it.
