Fast Charging False advertisement

I helped ZDX Bro push his car at 0% into the spot.

ZDXs don’t prefer being taken all the way down to 0%. Even though his 12v was definitely alive when he pulled in - hazards blinking and even the Acura logo puddle light going - he was having a lot of trouble initiating the session. Don’t know if he succeeded.

For the few months I didn’t have level 2 at home I remember seeing multiple cars being towed to EA.

Was standing around with a nice older lady with a new-to-her EV6 who wasn’t having a great time with EA, and it wasn’t even free. Almost done, she opened up her hatch and noticed a box with a Kia branded NACS adapter that must have come with the car? Would have been good to know that beforehand since there were 15 empty superchargers on the other side of the parking lot.

plug it into another charger(like the one next to it) will reset the 30 min.
Tried this 2 weeks ago

Are you saying that a workaround to them now tracking the 30 min free is to just use another charger after that the first 30 min? As in just switch chargers? It can’t be that easy…. ?

I think the fine print said something like wait 60 minutes to reset the counter. And the counter is accumulative, so if you unplug and plug back in, it starts as a continuation of previous charging.

That being said, some people still claim that their “unplug and plug back” still gives them free charging.

No longer on Mercedes as of a few months ago. I’ve tried and no luck. Party is over unless there’s a work around

If she didnt know about the adapter, then she probably wasn’t registered to use the NaCS

Yes, got total about 45min charge, 18+27, no charge to my card.

What car do you have?

After applying 85% charge restriction at Carle Place NY, the lines disappeared. What a great simple solution. No more Uber Bolts or Niro charging up to 100% for 3 hours, LOL.

I was wondering about this, I haven’t been since they applied that restriction. IMO all NYC/LI chargers should do this until they have more up and running. Everyone at Carle Place would try to charge to 100%.

Agree, it works perfectly. I guess all Uber Bolts have moved to EVGo

I charged last night coming back from Vegas at Baker 7:30 pm then Hesperia Walmart station, had a few chargers open at 9pm
Never had to wait here nor any other charger while traveling to Vegas from Camarillo. These are my go to when coming back (or the one on Mojave Dr at the 76 station) depending what time of day I travel… On the way to Vegas I usually stop at the Primm EA top off to 80% so I don’t have to charge in Vegas at odd hours and have more free time to…well, #VEGAS

*My only thing with the Ioniq 5 navigation is, that the car sometimes tries to navigate to a charger other than EA-last night was taking me to a ChargePoint instead, pretty sure I can adjust this in settings-but good thing I already know my stops so I just ignore the stops.

EA charging with a vehicle that supports plug and charge is just like Tesla SC.

Just wish it was consistent across brands. A friend has an Audi (same ownership as EA?) and had to go into the app and do steps to charge. But my friend’s Mach E just plugged in. My Hyundai I had to use the app to start or scan before it started charging.

Not quite that seamless. I still have to activate in app on ABB and older BTC setups and 2/3 on Signet. Newer BTC units will generally connect right away.
