I am selling my leased Mercedes Benz C300 to a Nissan dealership. They offered me $3,000 above my payoff. Is there anything to be worried about? Do I still get charged the disposition fee? Does Mercedes charge a fee for selling to a dealership or something?
I have done this a couple times before with no issues (different car brands), and did not get charged the disposition fee or anything else, but this time the Nissan rep asked me to call MBFS and make sure there is nothing special to worry about…
Also, the lease ends on August 8. The sale would occur a few days prior.
These are the same thing, there’s not a separate dealer payoff, the “early buyout price” includes the 4% whether you buy it yourself or sell it to a dealer.
But if OP is selling a few days before their lease ends then this isn’t an early buyout AFAIK.
Nothing to worry about, OP the payoff you see online includes any fees, so if the dealer is $3k above that then you should be good to go.
Update: Called MBFS, they said there is no fees to worry about, and that the dealer’s payoff price is literally the same as my payoff price. So, since Nissan is $3,000 above my payoff I am expecting a full $3,000 check and that’s it.
