Does negotiated DAS price usual include FMP?

Hello - this is my first post to the forum and I look forward to the valuable insight. My wife recently leased a 2019 Audi Q5 Premium from an Audi dealership here in NJ. She previously had a 2016 Audi Q3 Premium Plus which she turned in early. We worked with the same dealership who took the car back and we negotiated the last two payments of the Q3 into the DAS price. At the end of the day, here are the numbers we negotiated:

2019 Audi Q5 Premium w/ Convenience Pkg
MSRP: 47145
Sales Price: 44308
39mo Lease
10K per year
2750 DAS (tax, title, license and two months payments from previous lease)
450 monthly payment

The dealership was packed the day we went and we ended spending nearly five hours there. We mostly were just waiting for the finance managers to become available to review and sign documents.

When that time comes, we are given the option to lower our DAS to 2000 and just pay the remaining two Q3 payments on our own terms (750 total). We agree and as we are finalizing and give our cc to pay the DAS, the manager says “okay I will now go charge 2450 to the cc, the DAS plus the first months payment.”

Here is where my question comes in, does the negotiated DAS typically include first month’s payment? Never throughout the negotiations with the salesperson did he say the first month’s payment was included in the DAS, but he also never said the first month’s would be added on.

The finance manager came back and we signed the receipt and left only to afterwards start to question the validity of this transaction. I did contact the sales manager after the fact to see if this is the typical procedure. He forwarded my concern back to the finance manager who did say first months payment is added to the DAS price unless otherwise specified. He did say he would talk to the salesperson, but after some emails and missed calls, I haven’t gotten a firm answer from them.

In the end, this is on me to not have spoken up at the time the transaction was handled, but I did want to get some insight from the forum. Thanks!

6% off MSRP, did you try pushing discount further?

1st month is usually included, yes. Rare to see a true 0 sign and drive, but you can structure it that way if you wish. Would have to tell them that up front though, as it wouldn’t be assumed.

Actual final sales price was 42385 after double checking.

Correct. The miscommunication on our part was that my wife and I assumed the 2750 down payment included the first month.

Of course DAS includes 1st

Only exception would be when the bank pays 1st, then your DAS is obviously less.

Run away from this place.

No point to run as the deal was closed already.

Yes DAS includes the first month.

You are also paying for 2 cars for the next 2 months…

Why would anyone spend hours in a dealer? No thanks

A late update, but one nonetheless. The dealer admitted wrong doing and refunded us the extra $450 and took the last payment of our old lease. This brings the lease terms to the following:

$1975 down, $450/month over 39 months.
