Does anyone know of a dealer who sells Audi Care Platinum warranties, and maintenenace packages, on the cheap virtually?

In CT/NY metro area. Have been on the fence about what to do as my Q4 lease is ending i a few months. Contemplating a crazy deal ona. MMW but it’s far away, a takeover, and I’m frankly scared. PLus, I’m not in love with the look of the car. So, this leaves me looking to buy an interim car, like a Q8 eTron, which puts me squarely in the upside down scenario leasing avoids.

I’ve looked at other lease takeovers and new car leases on EVs that are luxury SUVs, and TBH the demo IXs are unicorns, the one in CA is far away and will take a long time to get here, and so I’m shopping with the goal of making this a second car, hence the need for coverage.

Does anyone know a dealer, F&I person, who will discount these coverages? Just curious if this is a ‘thing’. Thanks.

Don’t buy a Q8 Etron. What’s your budget?

To buy or lease? What’s wrong with it? We have a Q4 2024 50 now, but it’s a little smallish.

I can afford a good amount, but am trying to do well, as others do here on LH. Am lookig closely at the IX in CA, but it’s far away. Having anxiety about the xfer.

Audi Manhattan is at $1,437.14 per month and $7,493.76 due at signing on this Q6 e-tron: https://www.audimanhattan.com/en/inventory/vehicle/?isdealer&market=us&vehicleId=WA154BGF8VA003188 . This lease quote is also rolling in $1,662.81 in remaining payments on my Q4 which doesn’t seem smart. He says he’s discounted it $4,000 (which is below invoice) to a selling price of $71, 910.00.

My cap cost on the Q4 was $49K, and I bought MSDs. I don’t mind paying for a higher cap cost, but so many here get loaners and MSDs and great deals. We need an EV SUV.

I’m not the one who made the comment, but purchasing a new EV is generally not a great idea b/c they often have terrible resale value.

That sounds like a terrible lease quote.

“Invoice” is not a term that has much meaning, and, regardless of which car you’re getting, a lower adj cap cost (that doesn’t require you to spend your own money) is usually a good goal.

Have you looked at the Marketplace to see what dealers and brokers here are offering?

The Q8 e-tron was only available for one model year, MY 2024 (June 2023 to February 2025 production range). You can buy a used Q8 e-tron from an Audi dealer or third-party dealer, and either option should give you the chance to buy an extended warranty, if desired.

I’m seeing CPO Q8 e-trons for under $40K. CPO gets you an extra year of warranty. You might want to consider a late 2022+ e-tron SUV as well, which is a substantially similar vehicle but with less battery capacity. Either car gets you excellent ride quality (standard air suspension) and excellent build quality. Earlier Q8 e-trons have the LG battery with fire risk concerns.

I leased a Q8 e-tron back in the day and much prefer it to the current Q6 e-tron, even though the older car charges more slowly and guzzles up more electrons.

Don’t buy a Q8 and definitely don’t Lease a Q6 for that price.

Thanks for helping. I tried a few brokers. Haven’t had much luck. Best I was able to get was LH calculator replies and no answers to basic questions like: “How do we do this?” I think brokers must be so swamped they just don’t have time to deal with too many questions. I am guilty of that! I did join the Lease Wiz Lease Lounge on WhatsApp, but have no idea what I’m ‘doing’ there. Seems like a captive audience for that company, which is fine. I just don’t even know how to engage. Others want you to fill a form and prepay. I understand it can be horrible to have tire kickers wasting your time.

The guy who has the BMW I am still looking at is very nice. He’s a LHer, and super helpful. I just don’t know if $10K DAS is smart. That’s the deal, plus shipping from CA to CT. Imagine. I’m pretty ambitious, willing, but isn’t conventional LH wisdom to always avoid high DASs, except for MSDs?

We drove a lot of SUVs, back when we leased our Q4 in 11/23. We tired the q8, but my wife was afraid of how big it was. (Now, she’s willing to go larger. We had two Cayenne Ss back in the mid-2000s when they were big cars, but our current driveway is steep and narrow. She was scared of the narrowness, but seems to have a willingness for the larger Q8 or IX etc.

I didn’t realize they only made that for 2024. Such a nice SUV IMHO. I had no idea about the LG battery! I wonder how I’d get around that one.

There are a few with like 15k miles on them. CPOs. Close to $50K in Prestige trims. The sheaper ones have a lot of miles. Well, say 35k. I have found my baby Q4’s suspension and steering needs work after the 25k miles I’ve driven, Must be the weight. So, I figure the higher mileage Q8s, or any EVs, will need new bushings, tie rods, whatever is rubber that makes the ride and teering tight.

It’s nice to hear a POV where buying isn’t pooh booed, but I will confess: new is nicer. We only have so many cars left in our tanks, so we don’t mind paying, just hate to pay retail or get hosed if we can avoid it.

Thanks for the hard ‘no’ on those options. I’m sure you have good reasons for why. The lease from Manhattan was horrible. Payment is triple what we are paying for our Q4, and our DAS was mostly end of lease insurance, prepaid maintenance, and MSDs.

I’m not a broker, but, TBH, I don’t know what you mean by that question, either. Were you asking how to move forward w/ the deal? If so, maybe just saying, “Okay, that sounds fine. Let’s move forward.”

Is much of that $10K b/c of MSD? If so, you get the MSD from BMWFS at the end of the lease. I’m not saying you should go through w/ the deal, but $10K DAS b/c of MSD is really different $10K DAS that isn’t MSD.

You do understand that you get the MSD back (except from MB in the event of totalling the car)?

It might be helpful to take some time familiarize yourself w/ how leases are and can be structured.

Realizing how I must have sounded. Apologies. I had asked a broker “how do we make this happen”, “where is the car located”, and expressed some concerns about the company (Polestar). He was by no means nasty, just short, and did not answer half of my questions. I admit I didn’t push him, as Polestar isn’t wowing me given their situation. Is just an example. I didn’t mean to complain about people who are trying to earn a living as brokers. Just that my experiences were so so is all, out of a 1000, I may have had three so so exchanges.

Yes, I know I get my MSDs back. I used LH to lease my last car. That said, I am not on here as often as many. I leanred how much I don’t know from here!

None of that $10K is an MSD. It is money paid DAS by the leaseholder, AFAIK. I believe pert of that is for lease-end protection.

There must be IX and sorta similar cars like Cadillac on the east coast.
