Hmmmā¦apparently in NJ, car dealers are essential services (probably because of the service and parts department).
They will stay open even though the NY dealers are closed. Happy, safe hunting!

3/23 update:
Just so everyone knows, the dealers in the tri-state have laid off a lot of good people in sales and service because of the financial impact of shutting down temporarily.
Most of my dealers are saying 3 weeks, but the truth is, no one knows. This virus is real, killing people and destroying the livelihood of many hard working Americans.
Like many brokers here, our focus has shifted to make sure we help get people at dealers their jobs back, and most will understand this priority.
I do 50+ BMW deals a month, but Iām happily shutting it down.
Letās get through this insane time together, and more importantly, letās stay the F home!

Dan, Thanks for the awesome words and I hope people do listen. As a hospital employee, itās been crazy the past few days/weeks. Iāve been staying late/volunteering and helping as much as I can but with the way things are going, it seems like itāll get worse. Itās sad that people are being laid off or temporarily out of a job and I do hope it gets better but for now, stay home. If you really need to go out, get your groceries, etc. do it quickly.
I know we can get through this, its a few days of being at home. Take up a new hobby, watch a new series on Netflix/Hulu/Prime/etc. Clean the dust off of board games, etc. Do what you can to stay home.

A few BMW dealers have reached out this week, tired of sitting on their hands, trying to figure out a safe way to continue to sell cars.
One option is curb-side pickup after sending the paperwork ahead of time. I think this may be the best way to keep both parties safe.
Either way, we can still do dealer swaps and locates, and if you want to lock in the March program in case April gets worse.
The most important thing is to keep safe for everyone, but I understand people need cars, especially those who donāt want to take public transportation for the time being.

Dealers are losing back-end bonuses on these next week, and need to move the remaining inventory.
Thanks for the fast start to April! I have been telling customers to lock in March still and take delivery next week just in case April numbers get better.
For delivery and pickup, dealers staff have been given masks and gloves to ensure the safety of both parties.
