Replacement of consumables isn’t a complete unknown.
Take it to a good indy and have it checked out. You’ll have a good sense of how much life is left on consumables such as brake pads and how much it will cost.
You’ve already checked the biggest box which is tires.
By indy do you mean any independent shop that is not a dealer?
Last time I took my car in for service at the dealer, I was chatting with the service advisor on what were some of the common issues he had seen with the m340i since 2020 model year, and surprisingly, he haven’t seen many. This is a good sign that BMW did this model right.
Another than break pads and tires, I couldn’t think of anything that is consumable, maybe windshield wipers?
Thanks! I’ll search around an indy shop that works on BMWs.
I recall from a few post or comment of yours, “Extend 2 months, buy it, and have the option to purchase additional warranty before the factory runs out later if you decide to keep it.”
“you can purchase the bmw platinum extended warranty if you choose to keep the vehicle beyond 4 years.”
Do you still think it is better to keep the car even though the buyout price is about the same as market value of the car? Adding Texas tax, which might be $2.5k higher than market value.
“Market value” defined as…? If it’s defined by what maxvana offered then that’s wholesale value or maybe below wholesale.
Regardless these decisions are mostly relative. Can you buy a better car at that price? Can you buy or lease something better for a similar estimated TCO?
