Dealers selling above MSRP

General question - I see several dealers in the marketplace today quoting cars above MSRP. I know the current market dynamic we are living in and why some cars are indeed selling above MSRP today although assumed this was against the law to do. Quick internet search, It appears it is on some states and not in others although I would assume that a dealer would lose credibility doing so no matter what the law in their state says. That said, I don’t see it bothering many. How come? Personally I would never work with a dealer who does such actions. It’s price gouging. Taking advantage of today’s situation for profit. Thoughts?
