Hi all! I’m trying to grab a similar deal to what many hackers have been able to achieve on the XC90 loaner plug in hybrid SUVs! I’ve been getting quotes from a few dealers but would seriously love some advice from yall as to how to bring this number down! Good credit, and willing to put up the money for the max MSDs. Costco, EV rebate, and the medical one as well. I am unsure as to why this dealer is quoting such a high monthly!! I’ve attached a photo of the quote to this post. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!! Spec doesn’t really matter to me in all honesty.
I highlighted a few things on the sheet hopefully for some clarity. Yellow is just general details, orange is values I’m not sure on whether it is good or bad, and red is things I believe are too high / not good. I am by no means an expert on this so any criticism is also greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
Dealer discount is light. Take a look at signed and see what others have achieved for a dealer discount. You need to be at a 7-8k dealer discount.
I see that yeah; I just checked and the dealer discount is way off on this. Thanks for flagging!! Anything else you’d advise? I plan on going in person tomorrow to the dealer itself maybe see if they’re willing to move that more, that monthly is crazy high compared to other comps on here.
Make offers. Don’t ask for quotes. Don’t walk in to any dealership until you have an agreed deal.
Email is best. Send your offer over and they agree or don’t. Going in for anything except test drives / delivery is a waste of time.
Thank you! I saw your deal and you got a good number off MSRP. I’m trying to get into the monthly range you received as well.
- From a negotiation standpoint, did you tell them what monthly you were trying to get off the bat? or what figures did you give them and how did you work from there?
My offer was 10% off msrp pre-incentive. Got it and signed. Didn’t discuss monthly until discount was agreed upon.
Thanks for that. I hit the salesperson with a higher % off MSRP, so now I’ll just wait on that. Currently discount is around 2% which is definitely not suitable. Will wait on that before anything else. Thanks!
Make offers in their entirety, down to monthly and DAS to the penny. Discount is useless without MF and all other line items being agreed to.
There’s no time for going back and forth. Neither does a dealer want customers who play games.
Anyone who started off that low is extremely unlikely to come up to a nice discount.
NTM it is Friday December 27th.
Make offers to multiple dealers, starting as soon as you’ve run your offer by the forum.
How can you negotiate the MF? any advice on this? I am unable to determine what the money factor is currently as the quote pic I provided above doesn’t show it. thanks!
Sounds good, I’ve reached out to several dealers near me and a bit out of state looking to get numbers, a bunch are just hitting me with the come in and see which just isn’t suitable based on distance
When they say, “come in and see,” that’s when you know it is time to move on. Have you considered hiring a broker, like @Benedetto ? He specialized in mid west Volvo deals.
Yeah I am debating going to him, his deals are good just slightly off what I’ve been seeing on the forum. Wanted to try and see if I can replicate what jerfco above and other folks are getting in the low 400’s or mid/upper 300 range.
Don’t debate, just do it. He will give you a personalized quote, it will definitely be competitive, and it will save you a lot of time.

Idk how many times I have to say what I said above, about making offers in their entirety.
Hey so to run this by y’all, I got another quote from a dealer, I am still trying to figure out why this payment is still in the 500 range? The discount they are giving me now is much better, closer to the 10% mark. I’m sharing a photo here for reference. What other points can I negotiate here to bring that payment lower? I am doing max MSDs, rebates, etc.
You really need to take the time to understand how leases are calculated and then make offers as mentioned numerous times. If you don’t want to deal with that use a broker.
Suburban quoted me $665 either last month or earlier this month (dont remember which) with 1st due. This has a 4k downpayment attached.
When comparing to the forum deals, make sure you factor in broker and shipping fees to the overall cost calculation
