Deal Check: Porsche. Good/Bad Lease?

thank you! @wam22 overall do think I can get a better deal than these over here or in your experience is this rock bottom?

very curious … what do you drive?

I don’t know the particulars of either car but from other leases, these seem very well priced. Most I run into now are $1000+ for similar terms.

For the love of god…don’t do this…doesn’t matter how badly you really want a taycan. You don’t want something not under full warranty.

Usually for up to a 3yr lease, car stays under vehicle’s original warranty. The other beauty is it’s an electric car so I’m not worried about maintenance costs really

Unless I’m wrong, the Porsche CPO is 2 years which means you’ll most definitely be without coverage during a 39 month term.

What maintenance costs though are you expecting for an EV?

You’re conflating maintenance costs and mechanical breakdown coverage under factory warranty. Maintenance costs are never covered, so it’s irrelevant.

Fair point! I’ve only ever leased before (all my leases have been 36 months) and never experienced mechanical breakdown (let alone for an EV). What does that typically look like?

Have any of these past leases been 5 yr old Porsches?

Certain brands do cover maintenance though. Rarely but a huge one is BMW

Listen to the man, he drives this.

Bruh I thought you were outside my house for a sec. That looks just like my car lol

Correct, but the thread is about Porsche!

@holeydonut lol that was not me. That was for my uncle. Got him a great deal (at the time)

It’s why I’m asking these questions

Mission E wheels are the best. These black rims are mid

Have you ever owned a Porsche before and taken it to a dealer for scheduled maintenance?

What is the warranty on the battery in a Taycan? It should be at least 8 years, so you should be covered.

Leasing a CPO Taycan has got to be one of the worst financial decisions possible, but it is your money. Buy a used Cayman GTS if you want a sports car.

An ICE bmw. I just don’t really get these Taycan leases. Why wouldn’t you just lease a new model S, lucid air or i4 m50? No idea why someone would want a 5 yr old Taycan esp when these other options are cheaper or similar prices for new cars

Or you could finance a new 911 for undoubtedly lower TCO if you’re not fixated on a go kart

Sometimes the heart wants what it wants

b/c a new model s is going to cost $11,500 DAS to get monthly payments at $1,1140/mo if you’re looking at a comparable 36 mo lease with 12k miles. compare that to the #s i posted earlier in the thread, you can see how the numbers alone look WAY more favorable for the CPO Taycan

lucid air touring is something i was actually looking into … may not be a bad option tbh.

although i don’t really care in this scenario that it’s a “5 year old Taycan”. not like there are HUGE improvements when it comes to new models’ range, tech, etc. in fact i think the design looks better on the pre-25 models.

Can you walk me through how financing a new 911 will be a lower TCO than leasing a CPO Taycan 4s?

-monthly payments on financing are going to be WAY more expensive than leasing
-you’re usually paying close to the full MSRP on these i feel like …
-longer you have the car, it is only ever going to depreciate in value
-longer you have the car = costly maintenance.

so how would that math check out? (serious question for those who know – i’m very new to this world and i am open to opinions)
