Deal Check on Volvo C40 Recharge Ultimate

C40 is apples to oranges vs Y and Ionic5. If you want a small EV, get a model 3 otherwise forget about the C40.

The real question is Y vs MME vs Ioniq 5. I don’t understand why only the Ultimate can be compared against the Y which isn’t fully loaded by any means.

Do you meant that Volvo c40 is not worth the price of $45000 after rebates?

I have tried looking for ioniq 5 but couldn’t find anyone selling for below MSRP AND limited trim which has sunroof and comparable features is not even available within 200 miles

Would anyone look at this twice if it was offered at sticker at $52,500? Literally the only reason people are looking at these is they’re being duped by an inflated sticker and a “big discount!”

Y doesn’t have a sunroof so why is that a requirement for a competitor?

The greenhouse effect of a closed full-glass fixed roof is terrible. The inside of a Y goes 100+ from just a few hours in the sun in 75 degree weather

My bad on terminology… I was comparing sunroof with the open glass.

I wanted some glass on top with panaromic suroof/moonroof or open glass as that make the car more Airy for me. But that is my personal preference and I am sure that might come up with some disadvantage of more heat as you said.

I am sure there will not be any further discount if it was $52500.

I think the C40 looks the best. We just visited Chicago for a wedding. I was surprised to see that there are quite a few Teslas, mostly Model Ys. I did not see a single Volvo or Polestar EV. Here in SoCal, you can’t pull up to a stop light without seeing a handful of Teslas. A Tesla is by far the best bang for your buck. It has everything you “need”. I love the minimalist approach without sacrificing convenience and safety. I love the look of the MME as well, but again, I like the C40 better. I hate the look of the Ioniq 5 and 6, but one of my daughters friend has an Ioniq 5 Lilmited, and it is very nice.

I know some people say that EVs don’t have a soul, but go with your gut and get what resonates with you. All the EVs on the list are great cars. You really can’t go wrong.

Problem is Mach E premium does not have a tax credit now and does not lease well… A premium model is around $54k and same with ioniq where limited is around $58k

I heard from a different post that Volvo has a program to return it after 6 months or so… Can someone please provide me details on what is called and what is that program? Want to understand that option.

That is only care by Volvo - traditional leases do not qualify

Thanks Ben. Anyway you can get me a better deal? I am in Chicago region. Payment I am getting is $480 with 3K DAS (including tax title and registration). This is without MSD. Discount is 11.85% roughly.

The XC40 Recharge has a pano roof that opens

Honestly that’s an amazing discount. Normally Volvo c40 is capped at 11% so then beating that is wild. Most brokers can get maybe 10% max.

I wonder with your discount if u might be able to buy out and make equity at the end

They’ll be worthless I’m sure

I looked at mmr for a 22 etron premium today

Msrp is 72
Mmr mid 40s

So how did he get 13%?

No the guy that joined in the post. He posted he’s getting 11 plus before incentive not the op I meant.

OP wasn’t getting 13% pre

I know that was in his initial post but read further down and it doesn’t add up

11% is all of the money on a C40.

They can barely move these now without massive discounts. How would they become more desirable in 3 years?

Oh I see. Yea I see brokers pushing 10 and only 11 rarely.

I just figured because his rebates and the residual would he not be positive?
