DEAL CHECK- iX50- thanks in advance!

, ,

hey guys-- would appreciate some expert eyes.
was able to secure a good deal on an iX50, thanks to some good souls at LH, but some no.s seem off
MSRP 90295
Putting a big fat zero down besides the fees, first month and MSD
36/10k lease with 7 MSD and 7.75% sales tax rates
Something in the no.s dont add up

Much obliged
Ram

What do you mean the numbers don’t add up? At a glance it looks like as good a deal I’ve ever seen on an iX50.

the MF with MSD is .00008, but on the above deal it calculates to .00016

Agree that is a good deal, just clarifying if the MF is indeed marked up.
Full disclosure this is what I use to calculate MF=(rent charge/months)/(adj cap + rv)

This is the best deal I’ve ever seen yet on an iX50. MF is .0005 which is very subsidized by BMW. (With MSDs you’re effectively at 0% APR). There’s no way anyone is making money on this! They just need to clear out the inventory!

What’s so special about this? 10-11% off at buyrate is the going rate for these isn’t it?

thanks for chiming in buddy- yes nothing special, with the BMFS update last week just looks really good. Just wanted to check if I am seeing the no.s correctly, not that I wont take the deal, but good to know if the MF is infact a touch inflated.
No problem with stealerships making a buck or two

If you’ve created a target for your total lease cost, I recommend being indifferent to how they get there. Like you alluded to, the person representing the dealership is making a commission and their willingness to greenlight a barebones deal may depend on their personal comp from the deal.

Usually there’s more commission for rate markup or FI products than for selling price. All else being equal, an MF markup will be more likely to get greenlit than the same effective payment without one.

The 54% residual is so nice to see, and monthly payment pre-tax around $600 is pretty amazing. I wonder would the cost would be if you went down to 7,500 miles/year.

How could someone not be happy with this!?

That’s with ~$3,900 DAS and max MSD.

Only perhaps in North East, Texas and may be California you will see 10-11% off MSRP at buy rate. In the PNW this kind of a deal is rarity if at all it exist anywhere.

Even brokers are not able to go past 8% off MSRP. I think to get 10-11% off MSRP one would have to ship from North East to PNW which would cost $1700 to $2000 easily or drive it across country.

But the OP is in the northeast so the discussion is very much within that context.

I am trying to learn the craft hence asking. How do you set target which is reasonable ? One aspect is affordability but the other is one needs to be realistic at the end of the day this is business transaction involving buyer, middleman and manufacturer.

Different people have different goals here. Some people want to be top of an imaginary leaderboard. Some people want to be not ripped off and get on with their lives. Up to each person where on that spectrum they want to be.

Personally I recommend being on the aggressive side of realistic, and making offers to a wide radius of dealers. Even if they don’t accept, take the closest. Move on with your life. No points for winning the aforementioned leaderboard, it doesn’t even exist in reality.
