Deal Check Honda Passport EX-L 2020

That’s a good deal

What dealer in NY was this? Looking for the same truck for the family.

Did you get it? Did you use a credit card for the deposit, which is always a good idea

You’ve mentioned this “strategy” many times now, maybe give it a rest? Nobody here is interested in wasting the amount of time and energy you did.

Update.I walked away from the deal. Dealer called and tried changing the terms to 39 months and through a different bank because they said Honda incentives expired. Said I needed to put down $1100. Told me to pick up tomorrow which was fine but then called back and said I had to take delivery today. I couldn’t get there I was at work and have 3 kids I needed to pickup from school. I told them to cancel it. Really discouraged. What a collassel waste of time.

Sounds like you made the right decision. Really be careful with the paperwork if you decide to go back at any point. The Nissan dealer tried to sneak in an extra $300 in my DAS, claiming that I was obligated to pay the tax on the incentive (yes normally I would be but that was not my deal). I told them I was walking out and they backed down.

39 Months means that it is a bank and not Honda. Having leased from Honda twice before there is some value to leasing through Honda as I have found them really great on not charging for wear and tear and excess mileage. YMMV. However, it depends on the price difference. A couple of years ago when I was considering a Pilot (ended up with a Highlander) it was about $25 difference to go through Honda so I was willing to consider a bank but this changes depending on the monthly deals.

Note I have never leased through a bank or credit union so do not have a comparison. A friend has leased Chrysler and Jeeps through credit unions and or banks and had a good experience

Good Luck

always know which bank it is before signing anything. Some of them have horror stories about gouging for wear and tear at the end
