Deal Check: BMW x3 sDrive base in LA

First time lease buyer looking for a deal check, can’t tell if this is a good deal or not because most posted deals are not 0 DSA but have some money down. Leasehackr scores can be misleading, people say

Supposedly this is from one of the few BMW dealerships still selling below sticker price, Edmunds seems to confirm the MF is the best available right now

  • 2021 BMW X3 sDrive base
  • MSRP $46,920
  • Seller price $45,105
  • Max MSD
  • $1k lease credit, $2k in discounts
  • MF .00093
  • RV 56%
  • $0 DSA, sign and drive
  • 36/10k @ 657 after tax
  • Leasehackr Score: 6.5

You can do better with the dealer discount.

You should be comparing pre-incentive discount adjusted for buy rate mf, not monthly payments

it seems like there aren’t many dealer discounts to be had these days and the MF is set by BMW

even in this market? how much better?

It’s not. At $657 for a barebones stripper X3 it should be pretty obvious that it’s a bad deal.

Since you don’t qualify for more rebates you might as well forget it exists. Look at other makes & models that have better programs.

Most cars do not lease well. They do not have the programs (RV, MF and incentives) to be good candidates for lease-hacking, regardless of what dealer discount you can negotiate. This is truer now than it has ever been. Which means you cannot start your search with a particular car or cars in mind, and then find a way to make them lease well.

It will be like pushing a boulder uphill while pulling teeth, and you’ll still probably have a bad deal in the end. You need to start your search by filtering only the vehicles that are leasing well right now and offer good value per dollar.

Check out the “Share a Deal” and “Marketplace” sections of LH forums to decide what’s leasing well and pick a vehicle that is already proven to offer good value.

Remember, there are no magic wands that can save a deal from poor programs (RV, MF, and incentives).

Buy rate us set by bmw, but the actual applied mf can be marked up, which is why you want to compare pre-incentive discount adjusted for buy rate.
