Hi, my friend gave me this lease offer for his BMW M4, is this a good deal? If not how much incentive should I ask to take over his lease.
Your input is greatly appreciated!
Considering the mileage allowance, I’d say this is a strong deal. This is no unicorn and if you’re patient, you can probably find an M4 with this MSRP under 1400 a month with tax.
The question is if you will use the full 12k miles. If you won’t and you can get away with 7.5k or 10k mpy, you can definitely get a better lease on a new M4 on your own (probably would amount to ~2k incentive)… also consider that your friend has put 3k down which they are not making you pay. Do with this as you will!
Make sure the BMW excess wear and tear also transfers or have him cancel it before the lease transfers. It might be a good deal, but that is a lot to pay for an M4. You may also have to pay to reregister the vehicle.
It is high Mrsp. What would be a good deal leasehackr score and LVR for a BMW M4. Currently don’t see any good deals
My guess is your friend will struggle to find many takers at that monthly and with 33 months still to go.
M3/M4 are just overall ‘bad’ leases with high MF and low RVs…and have been for awhile now…
So is it better if I buy it out right instead of leasing?
Buying usually makes the most sense if you plan on keeping 5+ years but leasing can mitigate some of resale risk esp if you have an accident, etc that would diminish value. Best thing to do is to run a total cost of ownership scenario with all your numbers on a lease vs buy…try messing around with that on one of the AI’s or create a spreadsheet. Big thing here is if you qualify for BMW military you can get a 2500 incentive if you pay cash or finance outside of BMW.
Year, Make, Model, and Trim: 2026 BMW M4 Base (6MT)
MSRP: $92,275
Selling Price: $82,048 (11.1% off)
Monthly Payment: ~$1,275 (Includes tax - estimated after extra discount)
Drive-Off Amount: $3,000
Months: 36
Annual Mileage: 7,500
MF: 0.00255
Getting a solid 11% off MSRP right off the bat, which feels great for a manual M4. However, the dealer is clearly marking up the MF from the base 0.00235 to 0.00255.
Is this a solid deal as-is, or should I push them to drop the MF to base while keeping the 11% discount? Also considering maxing out MSDs to buy down the rate. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Put together an offer sheet with the calcs for the payment you want and see if they will match if you buy today! I do something like the below…
