Deal Check: BMW i4 xdrive40 lease in WA

Hey everyone, newcomer to the community! My Polestar lease is ending and I’m looking to lease a BMW i4 xdrive 40. Here’s what the dealer is proposing:

$67,340 (MSRP)

  • $6340 (Dealer Discount)
  • $8500 (Lease Rebate)
  • $699 PermaPlate Protection

  • $200 (Doc Fee)

  • $1200 (Estimated Licensing/Registration Fees)

36-Months Lease w/ 10k miles per year (54% Residual)
Lease Money Factor = 0.0009

$0 (Cash Down)
$732.38 /Month

$5000 (Cash Down)
$575.21 /Month

I thought these were much cheaper than that to lease right now so looking for some advice on how to get this at the $500-550 mark with 0 down. Thanks!

This is a reasonable but unspectacular deal for WA. Our registration fees (especially if you’re in the RTA which at $1200 you probably are) and taxes are very high compared to a lot of deals you see on here and other places.

The MF is marked up by 0.0004 (standard for dealers here but always negotiable), “PermaPlate” is nonsense. They can do more but you’re not going to get to the $500s with 0 down.

A broker will be able to do better but options are limited if you’re not willing to arrange getting a car from CA.

WA is a very difficult market to get a discount in, at buy-rate and with no add-ons, this wouldn’t be all that bad for WA but it isn’t that spectacular with all of that stuff added.

If you’d like to work with us, I can probably save you another 60-70/mo (maybe more, depends on what you want) with our PNW region BMW dealer.

Feel free to email scott@insightautoconsulting.com with the specs you’re looking for.

That said, if you’re only looking to buy if you will be at 500-550 with zero out of pocket (not zero down, different thing), that will not be possible in your area and is not something I can do for you.

Between the mid 10% tax rate and high reg fees if you’re in the RTA zone, that just isn’t happening in WA.

What if I was ordering from CA and getting it shipped here?

I don’t understand your questions, what if you were doing that? Not sure why you would when I can do much better within driving distance.

Oh I assumed you were based in CA.

Made a deal yesterday and you’re correct, they were marking up the MF 0.0004!! Got them to remove almost all of it, in the end. Also got the protection package removed. i4 xdrive discount started at 5% and eventually got to 10%. Thanks Leasehacker for great info!!

Just made a very similar deal yesterday on a 69,340 MSRP. Got them to a 10% discount of $6940 and got the Protection package removed. Also, got them to remove most of the MF markup. The real MF is 0.0005. For $6000 due at signing, got a monthly payment around $500. Good luck!
