Hi folks…I’m feeling OK about this deal, but I can’t get the monthly payment to add up…I’m looking at having my local dealership ship in this vehicle from another dealership (~$500). The vehicle is a former demo w/ ~4k miles on it.
MSRP: $69555
Sale price: $63483 (4% under invoice / ~8.7% off of MSRP)
Plus $500 Shipping = $63983 (600 miles)
It’s 48 Months / 7500 miles (would prefer 36m, but was told the value is better at 48m)
MF is Buy Rate (haven’t confirmed this yet…)
RV is 55%
First month only, Due at Signing (per Mercedes: 1st Monthly only = Zero DAS)
I have been quoted a monthly payment of $703 + tax. This is appx $35 more per month than the $668 I come up with using the LH Calculator…
I’m asking for a breakdown of Dealer Fees (which the LH calculator shows as $85). Based upon what I can tell, I’d have to add about $1500 unknown $’s into the equation to get to a pre-tax payment of $703.
Understood. I should have gathered more intel before posting…Hopefully I’ll have more clarity tomorrow…presuming the MF is .00102 (still waiting for response on Edmunds), I need to understand where the additional $1500 is coming from, and why 48 months is a “better value”.
I’ve run the #'s using the MF(.00102)/RV(56%) that I got from Edmunds last week on a 36mo/7500mi, and it’s a $654 pre tax monthly payment (+$795 acq, $85 Dealer Fees & $400 gov’t fees)
Here is a calculator I put together using MF and RV from the July program
(August program is not out yet, so you must have been quoted on the July program!) C43 Demo Calculator
Interestingly enough, the calculator is actually quoting us higher than what you said the dealer could do! ($703+Tax vs. $748+tax)
With these figures, it seems as though the dealer is giving a deeper discount than you have mentioned??
A lot missing variables here, but I am pretty interested to see what is behind the curtain on this deal!
Regarding 36 vs 48 month figures, the dealer recommended 48 months to show you a more attractive payment.
On Mercedes leases MF stays the same across different terms, and with the C43 it appears as though the RV drop between terms is negligible enough for payments to drop with more months added to the lease.
However it is important to note, that in all cases - no matter what, in a 48 month term you will pay more for the car (overall)! You have the car longer!
Oh man…I totally missed the Demo Car mileage section (and it’s right in front of my face…thanks for filling in that calculator).
While reviewing the calc you completed, I noticed that the RV is set to 51%, but I got quoted 55% on 48 and 56% on 36 months; so I’m torn with the RV that close.
I’ll post add’l details as I get them, which should be tomorrow.
Thanks for the input
Recap of #'s (in case I made a mistake in the OP):
MSRP $69555
Sale Price: $63483
Shipping: $500
Final Sale Price: $63983 (PLUS fees…the fees are what I need clarify)
MF: .00102
RV: 36 @56%, 48 @55%
Pre Tax Monthly Payment at 48mo: $672
I found a $750 Truecar incentive for the C class. If you have Penfed/Truecar, you should be able to generate a certificate from your account. Fine print does not seem to exclude demos.
As an update, the initial pricing I was looking at was incorrect…the MF on a Sedan is .00133 (as stated by @AutoActionSales) not the .00102 that I’ve been using (which is MF on a C43 COUPE). Using the correct MF, the LH calc comes in right where the dealership quoted me: $703 pre-tax for a 48/7500 lease (an 8.2 LH score)
I appreciate the input and advice…I’ll update with where I end up.
