[Deal Check] 2026 KIA Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige AWD | Massachusetts | ~$525/mo

, ,

It doesn’t matter if you pay $0 or $10k at signing, it’s the same deal (minus some rent charge for paying more up front). If you are dead set on this car, push for more discount. Make a counter and tell them what discount you are looking for which will get you to $x monthly.

Seems like you have made up your mind on this car, so at this point…

Make offers with a higher discount and pay inceptions at signing.

Good luck & let us know how it goes!!

There’s a Hybrid S AWD in this post, and several Hybrid comps in active threads in CA. I didn’t look beyond that, but I found those in just a couple of minutes. Not every comp is going to be perfect, but there’s considerably more data than you found.

You do know you can get better car than a Kia for that monthly, don’t you? Get a GLB or GLC

Not a comparably equipped one.

And the plastics/upholstery on entry level MBs are not better. They are often downright embarrassing.

Just so I have it right, the inception fees would be: Acquisition Fee, Documentation Fee, Tax/Title/Registration Fee. One dealer has a non-negotiable Add On (Pulse Braking); would this cost/fee also fall under inception or not?

Hi, this is good info, thank you. Trying to learn for my first lease. Other than rebates and structure, Should I fill all these other fields too: MSRP, pre-incentive discount, acquisition, doc, fees, etc. and send the dealership an email or request these numbers from them?. I’m assuming you mean to say that I need to create an offer I want and send them that and expect a yes or no, correct? Sorry if this sounds dumb

I believe you use the calculator and other information here to create your own numbers and then ask them to provide the car you want (you find it on their site) for the amount you want.

I usually just send a screen shot of my offer that I have calculated in Google Sheets…it lets them know that I’m serious, know what I’m doing and can calc payment, etc…never had a problem…makes negotiations really quick too!

Does’t sound dumb at all.

Yes, create an offer to elicit a yes/no. You have to thoroughly understand how the numbers work, which requires all of that info anyway. The format I posted is loosely based on what I use, but others have their own style.

However you format it, the objective (as @gohawks23 alludes) is that it’s clear that you know exactly what you’re willing to pay and can demonstrate at least to some degree how you arrived at that. (And your calcs have to be right for your offer to be credible).

This was the hardest thing for me to embrace after joining here, as it isn’t how most people are accustomed to shopping. I never ask for numbers, as it’s always a waste of time.

Using the tactic of “This is what I want, here are my number”, here is one of the latest offers. Waiting to hear back from 2 others. My numbers to them included a residual of 75% but they said its now down to 73% (in line with what Edmunds forum states) and the MF was almost in line with what Edmunds again said (0.00191 vs 0.00192)

Thoughts on this?

This deal looks much better a lease offer. Did anyone get back to you

No one else has gotten back yet to me other than this dealer.

Why not reach out to AutoNinjas? They are offering similar vehicle for $411 a month with taxes and tags down. 6.75% discount.
