Not very familiar with the Cadillac lease market so wanted to get some input. Car is a 2026 Vistiq Premium Luxury in Silver. The car is a loaner with 4000 miles. They quoted me $995/month for a 36/12 lease with nothing but drive-offs down. Did not quote me money factor etc.
Curious if this is a good deal or I should negotiate on it. MSRP is $94,485.
This is missing so much info…. dealer fees, registration fees, incentives… this doesn’t tell us anything.
If you set aside the offer you have for a bit, the most important two things to figure out are the prevailing dealer discount, and the list of incentives and corresponding amounts for which you qualify.
the current prevailing dealer discount requires looking at others’ deals (either advertised or signed), and you can get the incentive info from Rate Findr (if you’re a Super Supporter) or by posting a request in the Edmunds deal forum for this year/make/model/trim.
Regarding looking at prevailing discounts, #1 there aren’t many Vistiq deals out there and #2 there are even fewer loaner deals. So not a lot of data to go on. I will see if the dealer can get me more information.
Have you done a search on the website? I don’t think there are any for this month (and I’m not sure if pre-incentive/-rebate discount off MSRP differs by model), but there are at least a few Vistiq deals over the past 6 mos.
You can also draw some inference between the spread between discounts on new and loaners by looking at other Cadillac models…
But spending some time looking at programs in Rate Findr (if you’re a Super Supporter) will give you more specific information, like if there are any additional incentives to you and/or the dealer on loaners.
You won’t find many Premium Luxury trims out there since the Luxury/Sport trims are so well equipped. For reference, out of 1,880 new Vistiqs on Visor.vin, 1,525 are either Sport or plain Luxury and only 256 are Premium Luxury.
All that to say you probably won’t find recent deals on that trim level, but you can make inferences based on other trims. My general rule of thumb for Cadillac lately is that 10-15% off MSRP BEFORE rebates is expected for a loaner. Probably closer to 15 for the less desirable/more expensive trims like yours. 36 month terms tend to be more expensive than 24 as well, so you will see fewer of those to compare to.
Do you qualify for any rebates? You can get $1000 between GM card and the private offer link @trism mentioned above. Some parts of the country still have $2k conquest available as well.
Your calculator is missing some key details, though I think it works in your favor. Is that sales price a pure discount off MSRP without any rebates? What are the government and dealer fees being baked into the deal? What do you mean by “nothing but drive-offs”? Is that zero just sign and drive? Or a grand or two in government fees up front but no down payment? If these are included in that payment that would imply the discount off MSRP is even greater than 15% or there are rebates involved. There were better deals to be had several months ago but that seems to be what we are seeing now outside of some unicorn deals.
You’ll see deals around $7-800/month for lower trims that retail in the low 80s and sell in the low 70s, so based on what you’ve shared so far I don’t think this is a terrible deal. Still need more details though.
If you can swing it, look at doing a one-pay; you’ll save a ton in rent charge especially on a 36 month term.
Don’t think we will get there. They won’t budge on the MF. Obviously they are using the MF to make up the profit on the discount. I’ll let it stew and maybe I’ll get a call back. But don’t have a gun to my head on getting a car now…bummer I was excited to ink a deal.
