The breakdown shows 6133, 7133, 8133 down All in registration, fees, titling, first months payment, and gap insurance. I would be fine with around 3-4 out the door.
I’m a bit confused as to what you asking. Are you seeking feedback on what the dealership has actually proposed? If so, the $8K cannot simply be disregarded.
No I am not seeking feedback on their proposal, I originally asked them to match an online promotion and these terms are how you get to the 150/mo. I want to know if the discounts, residual, money factor etc are a good deal. This is my first lease so just looking for some opinions!
On paper, this looks like an incredible dealer discount: $6,340 off MSRP (12% off).
After the $998 doc fee and $599 tint, the effective discount is about $4,743 (9% off) – still incredible.
But I looked up KFA’s programs on Rate Findr, and the buy rate MF is .00189. On this deal, the dealer marked up the MF to .00289. This extra finance charge adds $1,400 to the lease cost, further reducing your effective discount to $3,300 (6% off).
A 5% to 6% dealer discount is still excellent and on par with other strong EV6 deals I’ve seen, just not the eye-catching 12% off shown in the quote.
For reference, I inputted your quote onto the Leasehackr Calculator here:
Thank you Michael! I knew it looked great but something was too good to be true. Thank you for breaking it down. I am going to push on the tint, and complain about the MF to see how badly they want to lease this car. It’s been sitting for 10 months on their lot.
If the overall deal is comparable to other strong deals, there is not really much to complain about. There is nothing fundamentally wrong w/ a marked up MF, as long as you’re getting a compensatory, larger discount (which appears that you are).
Learn how to really use and populate this…know the negotiables and how a lease is calc’ed…esp a target payment/DAS…dealers can make a lot of money if you don’t understand how these are calculated…MF bumps, add ons or downs in DAS that can make payment seem better, etc.
I believe all Kia leases come with gap. The tint is overpriced but not outrageous so personally not a hill I would die one. As other have said just keep it simple. Politely let them know that that you’re fine with the marked up mf but want additional discount to compensate for it.
Gap is included with Kia financial, and I was able get 300 off the tint. I was happy with everything and I would have to pay out of pocket somewhere else anyways.
