Thanks for the explanation! This helps a ton. Structure aside, the deal seems decent, but the residual is the only thing making me second guess it. Dealer discount is doing a lot to offset it, but I still feel like $10k is a bit much for the vehicle. It’s good to know the math maths.
Sure! Glad to help. You would be saving $363 if you construct a one-page lease proposal using my results from my post above. Email it to the dealer and tell them you’ll be in to sign right away. Not much you can do about the residual as the dealer has no control over that.
Below is an example of a lease proposal… it’s not a one-pay but you get the idea…
Well, they are stuck using whatever standard tools that dealership has adopted…not like they can have bunch of employees running around with their own customized spreadsheets! Haha
Yeah, should be able to do it but not on this screen being shown because there is no checkbox to translate capped to upfront for these charges.
hmmmmmm… Why not just zero fill the cap fees and cap taxes fields? Include these fees in the upfront charges field at the far right.
BTW, here is the LH Calc
Looks like the cap fees/taxes are autopopulated tho…as there is no checkbox next to them.
Even so, it seems to me that there should be a way to override that. If the software is not flexible to make certain accommodations, then IMO it’s garbage. I did a GM one pay for a friend in Ohio and had no problem. However, I think not all GM dealers use the same desking software.
like this!!! can you share the excel sheet before I make effort to replicate your tables? Thanks in advance!!
Thanks! Glad you like them. Unfortunately, I don’t use Excel although I have in the past… long ago. I use Mathematica.
