Deal check: 2023 Ram 1500

Yes, most require you place an order or offer a lesser discount. Do you have affiliate?

Nope. First responder and I currently lease a Jeep Wrangler 4XE. I’m not even sure what other incentives they tacked on.

https://treadlightly.org/ Consider joining, takes 30 days to kick in though before you can generate a control number.

Thanks. I’ll check that out.

I had a local ram dealership quote me on a 3/36 lease. With just first month down I was at $599/mo for a bighorn without the night edition package. Just go give you a reference on another deal. I’m in WNY.

Would you mind sharing the dealer? I’m in NW PA so most likely I wouldn’t be too far.

Have you gotten other offers on the Silverado? As others have mentioned, truck values are dropping, it’s probably in your best interest to unload it as soon as possible.

Also the $8200 in rebates seems high, can you share a breakdown? There’s a ton of inventory out there, I’d shoot for a 12-14% discount pre-incentive.

I wouldn’t bother this month, I gave up early on it. The best leases are with the IDL bonus cash (so you’ll have to look into the 3rd parties terms) and they were worse than last months CCAP leases. Hoping next month is better the best I’ve gotten in the past 3 months is ~$635 a month with my old Laramie Equity on a 73-74k Laramie. I feel like at some point in the next few months one of the major truck brands is going to have to budge more unless 2024 models are extremely late. But around me Chevy/Ford have a ton of inventory and Ram’s inventory isn’t moving so they’re building up.

Yes, I’ve received 3 different offers. I don’t have a breakdown of the incentives. I’m really not sure what all they factored in but I thought that seemed like a lot as well.

Looks like your dealer is sharing IDL numbers. Double check your incentives on the Edmunds forums; also might be worth to check 42 month programs if you’re cool with keeping it outside the bumper to bumper warranty.

What is an idl number?

They’re offering you a lease using one of the IDL programs, which basically is giving higher incentives in exchange for a much higher money factor.

Oh. I’m assuming that’s not something I want. It would be better to get a discount on the actual vehicle

A bunch of us were able to order RAM 1500s a year ago at 16% off pre-incentive. It did require a trip/shipping vehicle to get that price, but there were widespread 12+% discounts in 2H 2022.

Also consider selling the truck now to lock in the equity and placing an order with a large discount or continuing to shop (also gives you time to get an affiliate code as well). Uber or a rental car for a few months should be less than your savings on the new vehicle (and not paying your current lease payment).

Neither of those are really options honestly. I live in a pretty remote area. There’s no Uber’s, taxi’s or public transportation here. The closest car rental company is probably an hour or so away and I don’t really see that being a very cheap option.

Ordering is the way to go with a Ram. You build it to your specs and these get built pretty fast fyi.

Can always share a car with a family member until it arrives. Sell your current truck and take the equity while it’s there

From what I’ve seen, the best discount on a MY24 Big Horn Order is around 11.5%. MY23 Stock and In-bound units can be had for 12-14% pre-incentive. Also, I’m not sure if the $1000 coupon/code is applicable on 24s.

I’ve been shopping for a Big Horn/Laramie too. Production on 24s started at the beginning of the month and there are still a good amount of 23s inbound. With inventory where it’s at, I’m hopeful Sept and Oct (historically slower truck sales) will bring heavier incentives.

OP is running the risk of losing a grand or two over the next couple of weeks with used truck values dropping at the rate they are.

Yeah that would be ideal but sharing isn’t realistic. I work 12 hour shifts and get called into work a ton on a moments notice. My wife works full time as well and our work shifts over lap. We have 3 children, one of which has football practice every day. Needless to say, we are extremely busy and always running around. One vehicle in our household simply isn’t realistic.

Exactly. But I suppose if more incentives are offered in a month or two then that could offset my truck losing value. Honestly, if they could get me where I’m currently at payment wise with $0 down I’d probably take the deal. But none of the dodge dealers near me seem to want to even budge on the price they’ve provided.
