Deal Check: 2022 Mercedes SL63

Southern California dealership proposing this. Looking to get some thoughts. Seems pretty good from what i can tell.

Tell them to kick rocks with that 20 point markup

Tell ‘em drop the markup - good deal - perfect California car -

Or just re-run the LH calculator without the MF markup, get the payment and DAS amount, then tell them youll be in to sign if they can get to that payment and DAS.

Let them mark up the MF if they want.

Thank you for the advice.

Assuming they wont budge on the terms — any other ways to negotiate where the dealer is not taking as much of loss (compared to the deal on the table) such as included pre-paid maintenance where over the term of the lease i still get a win as a consumer?

We are talking about $2100 between the proposed MF and the buy rate over the term if my math is correct.

While I know this deal is not good at all, I am trying to figure out how this would get plugged into the calculator so that I can negotiate. I tried myself, but I keep coming up with a vastly different monthly payment than what the dealer is showing (something has to be getting marked up). Here is what have so far in the calculator as well as what the dealer has as the proposal.

At the end of the data, getting to the payment I want matters the most regardless of what the dealer is including on their end to make it work for them — I get that — just trying to educate myself in this case.

No. 1 possibility is that the MF is marked up (and the discount would be much smaller without it).

You have conquest?

They are saying .00203 after MSD — which while it is marked up, is not out of norm from what I am seeing with Mercedes ( buy rate before MSD I believe is .00253, so this is .00273).

Yes, I have conquest.

You’re set on this car? Or open to other options?

@AutoNinjas

I have a C43 coupe now and was hoping to upgrade (trading in). I am open to other brands/models.

FYI, they are also saying acquisition fee is $1095 and disposition $595 (all pretty standard) — so no mark-up there.

Yes, I know MB acq is $795, but rarely do I see that.

The calculator is great for constructing your own offers and/or adjusting someone else’s deal for your own taxes, etc.

Reverse engineering a dealer quote is a poor use of time.

Move to a strategy of making offers.
