Deal Check - 2021 BMW 330i in Texas

First time trying to really negotiate a lease. This is what the dealer is offering on a car they don’t have and have to get from another dealer on the east cost.

36/10
MF .00133

MSRP 51,780
Savings 2108
rebate 2000
sub-total 47,672

I was going to pay 3000 to cover taxes since this is texas. would make payments 647/mo which after looking around on here seems pretty high.

Just looking for some advice on what I can do better on this deal. Thanks!

Step one is to walk away from this deal. It’s atrocious.

We always recommend the following method before you ever contact a dealership. If you do all of the work up front, you’ll have a stress free dealer experience and set yourself for success.

  1. Read Leasing 101 (Blog | LEASEHACKR) to understand how to calculate a lease payment and the variables. Monthly payment is an output, not an input!!
  2. Pick a specific vehicle that you want to target
  3. Gather the current MF, RV and incentives from Edmunds forums for your zip code
  4. Research the LH marketplace and other deals that have been made recently on your vehicle - what was their pre-incentive discount? How did their lease terms differ?
  5. Plug your numbers into the LH calculator (CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR), and use a pre-incentive discount similar to what you have seen
  6. Create a target deal, this is what you’re trying to negotiate to. You can try different terms, selling price discount, etc. and see how your monthly payment is affected. It is also possible that different trims of your vehicle may have different MF and RV (i.e. this is very common with GM), so make sure that you look into that. Come up with a set of inputs that give you the output that you want - your desired monthly payment.

With a target price determined, you now have a deal to pursue and compare dealer offers against. More importantly, you have a solid foundation to work from.

seems like the biggest issue with this deal is they are only giving me 4% off MSRP when lots of folks are getting 10-11% ?

Yes, please walk away from this deal. A 12% discount should definitely be possible with a 330i. I believe the MF is also marked up, it should 0.00086 if I remember correctly. But, double check on the Edmunds forum.

More like 2% by the time you factor in the marked up mf.

current MF is .00093 for April I believe

12% isnt nearly as doable as it was a few months ago

thats kinda what I was wondering with the current car situation, so what is reasonable to ask for?

Best bet is to look through the shared deals and marketplace listings for setting a target. You might reach out to @IAC as well.

Just contacted.
