Credit Union Financing, CULA

On Quora someone stated that credit union financing is history as auto manufacturers subsidize dealer leases. Any truth to this?

In opting for a credit union is this done thru the dealer or by direct contact? (I know with CULA it’s the dealer) If you go with a credit union is the rate fixed or do you have negotiating room.

I tried forum search first on this but couldn’t find a detailed guide. Thanks to all.

Most CULAs list their new car rates. Just compare them against what the captive is offering to see if they make more sense. They will for some vehicles and not for others.

CUs do both indirect and direct retail auto loans. The few CUs that offer leasing all do it indirectly through the dealers. I don’t have Telegram but you can message me here. Send me your zip code and i’ll let you know if there is a CU that offers leasing in your area.
