FYI - while it is not a lot of money, for those that you that have an AMEX Platinum and have a Walmart+ subscription billed to it (mostly for the free Paramount+ or Peacock sub and free WM delivery on the same day or even hour) keep in mind that Walmart sometimes bills (or AMEX posts) the monthly sub fee on the first of the month and the last of the month although the 2 charges are for different months.

What this means is when you get the credit from AMEX on the first of the month, even though it is actually for service in the previous month, AMEX will not give you the credit for the second charge at the end of the month for that month itself.

I was billed for September on 10/1/25 and received the credit the same day (line item WM+ charge said SEP). I was then billed for October on 10/30/25 (line item WM+ charge said OCT) and received no credit. Apparently, AMEX sees it as the same charge twice in one month (although it isn’t) and they already credited you for October.

You’ll need to review your online statement to make sure you get it by calling or going online chat if it isn’t credited.

My Walmart charge comes in middle of the month. You can always cancel W+ and sign up on a later date, see if that pushes the monthly renewal date

PSA:

The Chase Sapphire Reserve/Preferred will not grant a SUB if you have previously had the card.

In the past, you could wait 48mo and then get a new card to get the SUB again. But this is no longer true.

It seems like they roll it back https://www.reddit.com/r/ChaseSapphire/comments/1nz65yz/no_more_one_sapphire_bonus_per_lifetime_rule/

Tread lightly.

JPM/Chase has been known to be easily spooked by new apps even with perfect prior history and healthy account balances.

My days of having my vacation paid by chase, citi & Amex are starting to end. Between devaluation n the restrictions imposed, it’s starting not worth the time n effort to get them. But hey, 20 years are a good run

I have thousands upon thousands of dollars sitting between points & miles. Granted, I understand some are decreasing in value but I hate “spending” any. I can’t be the only one??

While the points and miles sit there and the devaluations continue you are getting moved farther back in the plane and beachfront views go to loading dock noise.

Don’t wait, life is short.

Not about CCs but spending in general. Yikes.

I, too, enjoy hoarding my points.

Sort of but not exactly. If you got CSP and CAR before you are not eligible for SUB on the same card again.

Whaaat. Thats wild

This 100%. Earn and Burn has to be the MO or you will get fucked over and over again by devals. Even if you are just cashing out still makes sense.
