Covid19 lease payment deferral ruined my credit score

Do you know if they tend to use the FICO Auto Score 2 or 8 these days? In the Experian app, I see both scores listed out; 738/743, respectively.

I’ve heard a score of 740 is a T1 threshold - is a 738 negotiable with a finance manager, or is it typically a hard cutoff?

This is discussed in the credit thread. A dealership can potentially pull any of your 3 bureaus, and run them through any scoring model (typically FICO v2, Auto Enhanced Equifax, or FICO v8).

No one was expecting sympathy, kindness, etc from BMWFS… only that they act in accordance with an offer they willingly made, i.e. to allow customers to defer payments without any negative repercussions.

Sounds like they’ve rectified their error with regards to the OP. Thanks to him/her and everyone else who chimed in with constructive advice, unlike you, anyone else in the same situation can now be aware of the situation and call BMWFS to rectify erroneous negative credit reporting.

I’m glad this seems to have worked out in the end✔️.

During March, April, May I didn’t really need deferment. But come July it would have been nice. Called in the other day, and it’s no longer an option with GM Financial. Should have taken it when it was offered.

My chat from May 5th:

-You may be eligible to move one or two monthly payments at a time, up to three months total. There is no fee for a lease deferment.

-how long will GM Financial offer this option?

-As far as I am aware this feature is a permanent addition to our payment assistance options.
