Contract bounced back on Ioniq 5

,

Took delivery of ioniq 5 24/12 sign and drive about 10 days ago. Storm came through and power outages, got a voicemail from dealer and email from dealer with DocuSign documents to sign a new contract without any explanation.

Deal was 230 sign and drive, new contract is for closer to 240 x 24 payments with first payment due now . Essentially $>400 difference.

Separately when I took delivery I wanted to do a one pay but dealer could not figure it out with the incentivized program (61% RV, 0.00189MF) and therefore I didn’t do that. Deal occurred after hours and HF was not available and it happened when I needed a car quickly as my primary car was in the shop for the beginning of a long repair.

Since I’m being asked to agree to new terms, what are my options and is it possible to do a one pay if I can get direction from Hyundai financial and walk the dealer through it come Monday?

Return the car if they won’t do the original amount. You can return it and they will ‘Unwind it’ because it didn’t fund. Don’t hold your breath on the OnePay as that needs a trained F&I and lots of dealers don’t have one.

It is actually possible to get direction from Hyundai financial?

I will try

You’re not going to change a finance managers mind about these things. If they said no to one-pay, the answer’s still going to be a no on Monday.

The dealer should eat the $400 due to their incompetence. Tell them to send you anew contract for the original price, or come pick up the car. Meanwhile drive the wheels off it.

I understand the urge by many here that are advising you to stick it to the dealer, but if the new deal is still a good deal by your standards or alternatively if your time spent finding a new similar deal is worth $400 just sign it and move on. Try to get something from dealer.

My other question is… it’s possible to do a one pay with that program? If they know how to do it?

There is absolutely no excuse for a dealership not to know how to do a one-pay if their fund provider(s) offer a one-pay program. Move on to another dealership. Never favor a dealership with your business if they’re non-transparent, uncooperative, or incompetent.

This or have the dealer give you $500 worth of professional detailing or whatever the equivalent of a gas gift card would be lol. Maybe $500 towards another charging company than Electrify America, or a Tesla adapter etc.

It’s possible to do a one-pay with any car leased through HMF.

Whether the FI manager knows their shit is an entirely different story.

So what’s the update?
