Where you at? Im in NJ and they gave me the same answer but then half the dealers tacked on thousands in BS addons or told me they wouldnt lease out of state. One guy told me $8500 for vin etching and some other nonsense 
Detroit metro area. Much different market for domestic brands, as they fight each other quite a bit. Plus everyone here either has a family member working for GM or can get a PIN from someone they know.
