Chrysler Capital Early Termination Guidance

,

Get a new car now and ground it in 30 days with them.

I do not see a reason why they wouldn’t agree to this.

that’s sorta true, but not actually why I was asking. It was more about the hassle since the dealer is 2 hours away I would have had to inconvenience my wife for her Labor Day off to give me a ride. And then I would have had to find another dealership in a month to take the car. Since I didn’t lease the car locally I don’t know who is going to take the car for me.

Basically it’s the difference of one wasted day off for one person versus two wasted days for two people.

Got it.

I would expect better deals before the end of September, the end of the 3rd quarter, plus the end of the fiscal year for some from car industry.

Did you perhaps get a similar letter from CCAP? We were musing at the time that the “owe the differential” version of the contract they use in other states might not be consistent with California law and so they had to adjust it after the fact for California residents.

I don’t believe so. My situation was different though. The car moved around two states before getting to CA.

Any Chrysler dealership should be able to ground it assuming they’re all authorized agents of CCAP.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like I’m jumping the gun for no good reason and potentially creating a massive headache for myself in the process.

Update: I called CCAP and asked. They said I have to return the vehicle on October 25. No sooner no later. They said if I return it a day early it would trigger the early termination process.

I’m kind of stunned. I’m not convinced the person I spoke to is correct, but that is what she told me.

I’m also a bit confused because my statement dated September 2 says “You are due to turn in your Chrysler vehicle this month”, but my last payment isn’t until Sep 25 and so I would think I would be due to turn in my vehicle next month. My head is kind of spinning with what a shit show this all is just to figure out how to give Chryslers back their stupid car.

Do you have a copy of your lease contract? If so, post a copy and let the experts here decode the early lease turn-in clause.

here is the relevant portion. I guess at this point it’s purely academic since im just going to turn it in on 10/25. Just kind of blown away. Perhaps @ninjalease who brokered the deal can shed light.

You don’t have to wait until 10/25, but you should wait until after the final lease payment due date passes

That is a garbage answer by a rep that had no idea what they were talking about.

No mainstream leasing bank is going to force you to return a car on one specific day exactly 2 or 3 years later. 99% of the leasing population would not be able to meet that.

Most banks will allow you to return it anytime in the last 30 days, and some even have an unpublished grace period of 5 or 10 days after the official lease end date.

If your lease ends on 10/25, and your final payment is due 9/25, then as mllcb42 noted make your final payment and you’ll be fine to return it anytime from 9/26-10/25. It shouldn’t matter but wait until early October if you want to be extra safe.

Looks like I have the same problem with “Stellantis Financial Services US”. Last payment 3/16/2026 but I’m ready to pay everything now and return it (no miles left and I already bought another car). Will I pay residual-action difference?

Same problem here. My Rubicon 4xe lease has 5 months remaining and no miles left. The car has been sitting on the driveway for 1 month already. Does Jeep offer any lease pull ahead?

You will be making the lease payments so just keep driving it and pay for the extra miles. If you weren’t leasing and owned you’d do the miles and you would also ‘pay’ for them via decreased value due to miles.

I have 37 days left on my jeep lease with Chrysler capital, I’ve heard so many different things the few times I’ve called ccap . I just want to give this car back . Has anyone actually returned the lease within

The 90 days . I just don’t want to be liable for the difference on vehicle at auction . I just don’t understand , I’ve been dealing with this for months and have no been able to get any feedback from anyone who’s actually release one of there vehicles early ! Does anyone know !

Just wait another week and turn it in within the 30 days, don’t chance it
