Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Awd, $239/month with 0 DAS

Got the Equinox EV 2LT awd with supercruise at 239*23 payments no money due at signing. 10000 miles.
Had $3500 in rebates -
Conquest -1500
Lease Conquest -1000
Costco-1000
Dealer discounted the 49295 price to $45000 making it sales tax free in WA.
No mark up on MF: 0006
Car has a range of 290+ miles and supercruise (self driving)
Interiors are well appointed and the huge screen and google interface is extremely user friendly. Suspension is pretty good and charging time is not worse than other Cars in its range except the Ioniq. Has access to Tesla Supercharger with an adapter.
Other cars considered:
Long range tesla with fsd would cost a lot more and the ride was not comfortable. Suspension on Equinox is much better. Supercharger is now also available on Equinox so no advantage there either.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited Awd: Got the dealer down to 3xx range with fee upfront but decided to not mess with the recalled cars. Seems problems with some batches are recurring and Hyundai is a pain to deal with. Charges faster than almost every other EV but no access to Tesla supercharger yet. Waiting in line for hours defeats the fast charging benefit.
Honda Prologue: Weird rattling sound on acceleration, no self driving feature, did not talk numbers as we did not like the car after test driving. No supercruise, no fast charging like Ioniq, no access to Tesla supercharger yet.
Blazer EV: Slightly larger than Equinox. Did not have supercruise (self driving) option in the 2024s. Msrp is much higher for the same product with less features as an Equinox. Did not feel that few inches of size difference warranted a much higher price.

Edited Ioniq review as someone pointed out that it does have highway assist.

Nice deal.

Is there any possible way to add CarPlay or Android Auto by way of a 3rd party setup/dongle or whatever?

This video has quite a comprehensive tutorial about how to use the text and calling on your iPhone. Also the google interface works with android as you can log in to your android account on the car with your existing google profile and then it populates it with your existing data, map addresses etc. You have a playstore in the car and download a ton of apps to mirror your phone

What mileage did you sign up for? Also is the dealer you worked with Western, Central or Eastern WA? I’ve been trolling around and think I’m ready to get serious with dealers on an Equinox EV or Blazer EV.

10000 miles. Dealer is in King county, doesn’t have any Equinox 2LT left. Any other variation, you will have to start the negotiations anew.

If you wanna get serious, create your target for the deal and when you’ve done that, make offers.

Don’t ask for quotes.

Agreed! Trying to find what is possible, but can be a little difficult when I need 15k miles and many are able to do the 10k for the more attractive payment.

15 should not be so bad, did you run the calculator and see what it will be?

I did. Ran into some issues with how to calculate the sales tax since WA gives a break in the first $15,000 when the price is $45,000 and below

modify this one here with your incentives (CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR)

Ok so I maybe don’t understand the law. Does it give you a break on all sales tax or just the state portion of the sales tax? State sales tax is above 6% but that would still leave another 4% in some localities.

When the dealer feeds the data into their system it will automatically calculate it. The price is still awesome after paying 10.25% as it is only on your monthly lease payment and not on the cost of the car. So tax 5xxx or 6xxx and pay another $500 -600 over 23 payments, depending on the deal you get and the msrp of the car. (Not necessary you can get the same discount on the same msrp car so keep your options open).

So the calculator is accurately showing your payment by showing 0% tax when the sales price is 45k and below?

Yes, this is accurate, this calculator just doesn’t have all the incentives listed so I put all the rebates in untaxed, otherwise above $45000 selling price WA charges sales tax on the rebates/incentives too.

Sweet! I’ve been playing around with the calculator using the MF and RV from Edmund’s and it’s consistently well over 320 per month even at a 45000 selling price. So knowing how I should be arranging the tax benefit and keeping the incentives untaxed will help me be more accurate with my offers.

How quick was the dealer to reach your target price/payment? The dealers I’ve briefly discussed pricing with have been open to some price matching so it sounds like they know there is some need to be aggressive on these.

You are going to have an easier time if you can find a dealer with some stock as we are almost at the end of December. Email everyone that has the car with specs you want and the monthly payment ( be accurate after calculating your incentives and a reasonable discount on msrp)

Thanks.
From the article: “White Automotive warns buyers that they’ll need to factor in the cost of professional installation. This isn’t a plug-and-play software you can install at home.”

The android automotive is plenty functional without jumping through these hoops. Tesla buyers are surviving without carplay, we shall too. :crossed_fingers:

It took about 2-3 weeks of back and forth with various dealers.

The ioniq limited does have self driving. And next year’s models will have ports that work at teslas network. You can use the current model at Tesla chargers, with an adapter starting next month.

In addition, the ioniq 5 comes with 2 years of free charging at Electrify America

Who told you all this info??
