Why am I seeing taxes = 440.76 on line 12(B)? In what state is the car garaged and what is your sales tax rate?

I am really not sure… the finance guy came looking for additional charges… the sales person said… I am paying only 235$ and I only paid 235$ i am not sure about these details in the lease document… in GM website it shows my monthly payment is 235$

You need to be sure about the details in the lease doc. For instance, do you know your MF = .00131. Is that that marked up or is that the buy rate? Do you know if the dealer gave you a discount off MSRP excluding rebates/incentives? What is the MSRP? I see the sell price of 39253.60.

Looks like you allowed the dealer to control the deal. Bad idea.

$235 with only 2500 in rebate is far from a bad deal- congrats @Spsk78

Never said, implied, or suggested that it was a bad deal. Just trying to stress the importance of understanding the deal and never allow a dealer to control. Create a target deal and construct a lease proposal and then, negotiate via phone/email. Sample proposal below…

I understand… in this case sales person kind of helped me… when I walked in I told the person that my budget is 5-6K and the dealership is close in middle… then I learned, i should have done the home work and never give the range, set the target and start low and close at the expected target. After negotiating it monthly I can only pay 235… the finance guy came with Tax and other fees, and the sales person said inclusive all everything we agreed for 235 and sales person went back quietly without saying anything. I am learning and will get familiarize with the terms and different components in the lease.

Thank you for educating me

You’re welcome. Glad to help in any way I can. Leasing is an on-going education process… it never ends. I still have much to learn from others which is why I frequent this site. Lots of talented folks on here.

Sounds like you had a good salesperson. Not a bad deal by any means.

Do you know if the $1000 Costco discount is still available and stackable? Thanks

it’s gone as of august

Congrats on the great deal. How is the ride?

Would you be open to sharing dealership information?

I respectfully disagree. Who cares about money factors, rebates, or dealer discounts if the net of 235 with zero due was achieved and it met the goal of the customer? Great deal! Delta… you need to relax.

I do! Works for me and has served me well for years. How does the customer know whether 235 per month plus zero drive off is a good deal without running the numbers which involves knowing the cost of money, dealer discount, rebates, etc.? At some point, you have to run the numbers whether with a calculator or doing it manually. Otherwise, your proposed deal may be unrealistic or, you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.

I generally agree with this but there are enough data points on this forum to finesse a representative “good” deal with a dealer that’s motivated enough and not looking to play games. On a car that isn’t leased as frequently as these are at the moment, this would obviously be more challenging.
